Leadership Night and 6th Grade Orientation
Join us on Thursday, March 7th, from 5pm to 7pm at Holly Middle School as HMS students showcase all of the hard work that goes into being a Leader in Me Lighthouse School!! Leadership Night is organized in an "open house" fashion which will allow you to experience what HMS has to offer at your own pace!!
For our incoming 6th-grade families, they can begin to learn about the transition to HMS and see student engagement and leadership come to life!
To create the best opportunity for families to experience both Orientation and Leadership Night we have scheduled the evening as follows:
Click Here to see the schedule for 6th Grade Orientation
Our Orientation Program will begin promptly at the times listed above in the Gym and we will have 4 scheduled rotations within that time where families will travel to different areas of the building to hear from HMS Counselors, 6th Grade Teachers, our Office Staff, and Elective Teachers.
Since our Leadership Night is an "open house" format our 6th-grade families are encouraged to drop in and learn more about HMS through this great event!! Check the schedule above to help plan your evening!
9th Grade Orientation @ HHS
Attention 8th Grade Families!! You will have an opportunity to see what is in store for your HS years on Thursday, March 14th, at Holly High School. Recently, an email from the HHS Counselors was sent out to all 8th-grade families detailing the event. The highlights are:
- 6:00 pm - Q/A Opportunity with extracurricular programs
- 7:00 pm - Program begins in the Auditorium with HHS Counselors and Admin.
PSAT 8/9 Testing Info
On , all 8th-grade students in the state of Michigan will take the PSAT 8/9. The PSAT 8/9 is the state accountability test for 8th-grade students in the subjects of Math and ELA. The PSAT 8/9 is the first step in preparing our students to take the required SAT as 11th graders. We encourage our students to do their best as HS administrators and counselors use the PSAT 8/9 results as an important piece of data to help support incoming 9th graders.
For Parent information about the PSAT 8/9 please click here: PSAT 8/9 Info.
M-STEP Information for 6th - 8th graders will be shared later this month.
Please use the Broncho Shout Out form to shout out the good things you see (or hear from your students) happening at Holly Schools! We are all one team, and we are all working towards the goal of growing successful students. We love to recognize our staff for all the good they are doing to empower our students to reach for their best!
Chromebook Care
We understand that from time to time there are necessary repairs and fixes that need to be made to Chromebooks due to everyday wear and tear or the occasional accident. Each time this occurs our technicians work to ensure students have a backup device as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, HMS has experienced an increase in Chromebooks that are being intentionally damaged and need extensive repairs which are taking up a significant amount of our technician's repair time and depleting our supply of backups. This impacts our ability to get students' backup devices when they turn in their devices for a legitimate repair.
We are asking our parents/guardians to help remind our students of the importance of taking care of their Chromebooks and that the condition of that Chromebook is the student's responsibility. Devices that are intentionally damaged are not covered under the HAS Technology Protection Plan and the costs associated with the repairs or replacement can become the responsibility of the student and their family.
Additionally, students with devices that are intentionally damaged can be subject to our HMS Code of Conduct under Vandalism and lose out on participating in schoolwide events and trips.
Families, we are here to help support your child!! If there are any topics you'd like us to connect with your child on, please reach out. We can also work with you to connect you to resources and supports in the community.

# 1 – If your child is interested in a spring sport, the first order of business is to register them online. The FinalForms online process can be found on the athletic department website – www.hollyathletics.org. Parents – login and register your child. Then, the student must register. The online registration process MUST be completed before the start of the season but you are encouraged to complete this process soon. Coaches are able to contact parents/athletes with sport tryout info once in the system.
# 2 – Make certain a completed physical form on file in the MS or HS office. (If the student played a fall or winter sport the physical is on file and you are all set.)
# 3 – All students and parents must have the necessary forms completed and a participation physical on file with the athletic office in order to practice. Hard copies of the physical forms must be turned in to the athletic office prior to the start of the season. Also, the pay to participate fee ($125 for high school sports and $50 for middle school sponsored sports) must be paid either online using E-funds or in person at the athletic office.
