#globalmakerday is a global online event on Tuesday Oct. 25th - Some of the challenges students have been working on to share include:
Make an obstacle course mainly out of cardboard
Create a whimsical jack o’lantern out of recycled materials.
Create word art using inspirational words
Build a the tallest tower possible using just 5 items.
Design a 3D self-portrait

Students will be finishing up with their Integer Operations e2L unit. Their final product will be for a test grade and will be presented next week.
Students will have a test over integer operations on Thursday, October 27th.
We will also be reviewing how to multiply and divide decimals. There will be a short assessment over these skills on Tuesday, October 25th. Please make sure your child knows and is studying their multiplication facts.

STEAM Math ~ Mrs. Justice
We will continue our unit on integer operations. Students will learn the steps needed to multiply and divide positive and negative numbers this week.
Students will have a test over integer operations on Thursday, October 27th.

This week, we will continue Unit 1: Numbers and Operations with Section 2: Scientific Notation.
Students will convert numbers from standard notation to scientific notation, and back again.
We will have a knowledge check on Friday.
On Tuesday, November 1 we will assess Unit 3.
Humanities ~ Mrs. Moore, Ms. Lindamood, and Mrs. Strother
We will conclude our North America unit this week by continuing to analyze non-fiction texts. We will also introduce interpreting primary source documents in Social Studies.
Our test on the North America Unit will be Monday, October 31.
Art ~ Mrs. Beam
We will do a quick project focusing on an introduction of symmetry on Monday and Tuesday. After that, we will begin our next e2L unit focusing color theory, emotion, and abstract expressionism
If you have not purchased a 9x12 sketchbook for your student, please do so. We use that each day for warm ups and process work. Also, if you did not purchase an art kit, we are going to be using our Prang Watercolor set for this unit. Please purchase as well. Snap Raise Fundraiser ends on Monday October 24th. Twice weekly videos are still due by every Monday and Friday evenings. Please help ensure your student is practicing at home and completing their work.
