The Angels Of Epilepsy "i Am ME" Campaign has begun!
The "I Am Me" Campaign is an initiative to inspire and uplift the many living with epilepsy around the world. These survivors have experiences and stories that are unique and must be heard. Throughout this campaign you will be able to hear first hand testimonies from epilepsy survivors and caregivers.
The goal of this campaign goes beyond inspiration and upliftment. It is also necessary that we provide a solution for some of the issues that epilepsy survivors live with on a regular basis. Therefore, apart of the "I Am ME" Campaign, we will be providing medical alert bracelets to survivors and assisting them with their medical needs.
We do appreciate the participants that has joined our campaign thus far and we hope to get more! If you would like to know how you can join this campaign, join our website and send an email to angelsofepilepsy.org and you will receive further information.

Ella-Louise Tunney, 26, fell in the tub when she suffered an epileptic fit, in Eton Wick, Berkshire.
Her worried family had passed the hot tub as they desperately searched for her, but the lid had been blown shut by the wind.
Cops found her body floating in the water three days after she vanished.
Ella-Louise had invited a friend around for a soak on the hot summer day, but tragically she never turned up.
She was diagnosed with epilepsy as a teenager, but it was under control with medication until the year before, when her seizures got increasingly worse. The inquest heard she was once dragged out of a bath tub by a colleague after suffering a blackout on a business trip.

A new high-tech bracelet, developed by scientists from the Netherlands detects 85 percent of all severe night-time epilepsy seizures. That is a much better score than any other technology currently available. The researchers involved think that this bracelet, called Nightwatch, can reduce the worldwide number of unexpected night-time fatalities in epilepsy patients. They published the results of a prospective trial in the scientific journal Neurology.
SUDEP, sudden unexpected death in epilepsy, is a major cause of mortality in epilepsy patients. People with an intellectual disability and severe therapy resistant epilepsy, may even have a 20% lifetime risk of dying from epilepsy. Although there are several techniques for monitoring patients at night, many attacks are still being missed.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see the minutes pass by, I flip the calendar to a brand new month, watching the seasons change. Leaves fall and dance in the wind, followed by snowflakes slowly floating to the ground. Smiling with ambition, dreams and hopes as the gigantic ball slides down in Times Square to welcome in a brand new year at the stroke of midnight. Throughout all of this, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, combating seizures big and small.
