It was SO good to see the students back today - ready and anxious to learn!
We are very busy with Mid-Year Assessments this month! Your child should be bringing home their red baggie nightly with three books: a Biography, a Fiction, and a Nonfiction book. We are working on being independent and prepared to work on reading stamina as peers are being tested in class!

Reader's Workshop:
Narrative Nonfiction
Readers of narrative nonfiction texts use what they already know about fictional narrative to understand biographies. They do this by: (RI.3.3)
· Understanding that the individual in a biography faces similar struggles and challenges as the characters in a fictional story
· Attending to the important events and decisions in the individual’s life such as:
o personal challenges
o pivotal choices
o consequences

*Combining two areas to find Total Area of a figure
*Finding Area of figure with more than four sides
