Forgiveness!
Our focus this week will be on the character strength of Forgriveness
Forgiveness is the ability to move past being injured, and allow yourself to reconcile with the person who hurt you. Forgiveness can often be seen as a selfless act, but it also carries many benefits for those who practice it. Those who demonstrate forgiveness have the ability to move forward after someone has hurt them. Forgiveness is often rooted in the idea that all people are valuable and worthy of a second chance. Many who forgive have the ability to consider things from another’s perspective.
The parent virtue for the Forgiveness is Temperance. Strengths of temperance protect us from excess. Strengths comprised in this virtue are forgiveness, humility/modesty, prudence, and self-control.
Please use these quotes, video links, and character card to host conversations with your child about the character strength.
"Mistakes are always forgivable, if one has the courage to admit them." ~Bruce Lee
"Forgiveness does not change the past, but it does enlarge the future." ~Paul Lewis Boese

This is designed to be easy for parents to use to lead conversations around the importance of character strengths and positive relationships. It is differentiated for grades Pre-K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Most of these webpages are password protected and the password (very simple) is: P2
Additional Spirit Day!!
Our Kindergarten Friends are invited to dress as their favorite LetterLand Character as they will celebrate with a LetterLand parade. Parents should look for more information to come from their child's teacher.
Our 1st - 5th Grade students are invited to dress as their favorite book character! Dress up as a character from Harry Potter, the mouse from "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie," "Olivia the Pig," Alice from "Alice in Wonderland," or any other character from your favorite book!
Please remember the book character must be school appropriate. Traditional Halloween costumes and masks are not encouraged.
**Students should not bring items that resemble weapons, wear/use items that portray the use of blood, or that demonstrate an act of violence.
BoxTops for Education
Individually clipped tops can be sent in an envelope or baggie, with a slip of paper noting how many are enclosed. The most important thing will be for only clippable, unexpired tops be sent. This video is helpful for parents to understand which ones are collected and how they get bundled.
