CES: Where We Read to Know, Write to Show, Speak to Grow!!!
Parent/Teacher Conference Questions
This topic has come up at multiple conferences last week, "Why is it important to say "No" to my child and how can I get them to do what I need them to do?"
Here is an article that addresses some of the reasons and support with this topic.
It can be especially complicated if your child was medically fragile in their early years or is experiencing difficulty with transitions between homes, etc. However, the message still needs to be consistent, firm, but also with love that you need them to do as you are asking.
Please contact us if you need additional resources in this area.
It takes a village.

It's that time of year again! Yes, Race Time. We were glad to bring back the race last year (finally) after years of COVID impacting us. We had a terrific event, despite AM rain. We look forward to this year's event. Here is a link to register, sponsor, or simply find out more information. Run, Walk, or Crawl to the finish line. We hope to see you at this long-standing community event! Thank you for your support and look out, Thunder Chickens! CES racers are gearing up for the 7th Annual race! :)
Passing Along! SwampBats Camp!
Thank you for your support with our construction process. It's been more difficult to park and move around the area, so we appreciate your continued efforts to park around the construction vehicles.
Early Release-4/8/24- Solar Eclipse Day!
Early Release Day added to WNESU Calendar
In consultation with our STEM Coordinator, Science Teachers, Transportation, and Public Safety offices, the administration determined that it was in the best interest of the safety of our students to call an Early Release Day for Monday, April 8, 2024, due to the solar eclipse. We did discuss the pros and cons of no school but felt this was not in the best interest of our students. This will also allow all students to observe the eclipse and not be in transit home. Each school has developed educational units around the eclipse and will pass out special glasses for students to wear during the event. It is important to remind your students they must use these glasses when looking at the eclipse.
Early Release times are as follows:
Westminster Center School: 11:45 AM
Central Elementary School: 11:30AM
Grafton Elementary School: 11:30AM
Saxtons River Elementary School: 11:45AM
Bellows Falls Union High School: 11:20AM
