Amazing Music and Math
Happy Friday,
Another great week at CGE. Just a reminder that with the snow in the forecast, please make sure your child is dressed for the ever changing outdoor conditions as we will still have outdoor recess.
Next week is a short week with Friday a No School day.
April 19 is our second annual GLOW BINGO night sponsored by the CGE PTO. More information will be coming soon about this event.
Sincerely,
Candy Gram, Principal
Cottage Grove Elementary
Drop Off Lane at CGE
Just a reminder to pull all the way forward when dropping your child off in the morning and then promptly move forward and away as soon as your child is safely out of your vehicle. We want to keep the line moving as quickly and safe as possible.
Transportation opt-in
South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo Schools) will use an opt-in transportation system for the 2024-25 school year to help ensure the most efficient routing for students eligible to ride a school bus.
The form can be found in your Parent Campus Portal account and is translated into five languages in addition to English. If you need help, please follow the instructions on the transportation webpage or email info@sowashco.org. If you need a different language or an interpreter, please call 651-425-6328.
Families must complete the opt-in form by Friday, March 29, 2024.
Please complete a form for each child.
Families that do not complete the form for each child will be opted out of transportation services for the 2024-25 school year.
Non-busing zone distances of 1 mile for elementary school students and 1.5 miles for middle school students are subject to change.
Non-busing zone distance of 2 miles for high school students will not change.
If changes to School Board policy are made before the 2024-25 school year, impacted families will receive additional communication about transportation before the school year begins.
If your situation changes, families can opt back in for transportation at any time, as long as the student qualifies for busing services.

- Wear the visitor badge so that it is visible during the entirety of the visit.

- Visitors may not visit recess time.
- The visit is limited to guest space during the student’s identified lunch period.
- Any outside food brought in can only be shared with your student.
- Do not take pictures, record, or film while at school. Use of cell phones is strongly discouraged for safety and privacy.
- You may sign up for one spot a month to allow for other families to sign up as well.

Birthday Treats
It has been a common practice to provide treats for the class in honor of a child’s birthday; however we are asking that NO EDIBLE TREATS be sent in to celebrate birthdays. We will make your child’s birthday special in the classroom without edible treats.
If you would like to send a little something to honor their day please consider an alternative birthday treat such as pencils or a book donated to the classroom. We ask that no edible treats be sent in due to varying allergy conditions and other issues related to edible treats in the classroom. Thank you for your help with following this new practice of celebrating birthdays in the classroom.
