SHADY GROVE MATTERS WEEKLY UPDATE
April 14, 2024
THE ADMINISTRATOR'S CORNER
Greetings Shady Grove Families! We got through our first week of MCAP testing and will be done after two more days this week. Please see below for the schedule for the remaining day for ELA testing. To celebrate the last days of testing we will have a block party in the afternoon of Tuesday 4/16/24 where students can participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. We also look forward to having fun for Spirit Week, starting with Oversized Outfits on Monday. During Homeroom on Wednesday, students will be voting for the next Student Member of the Board (SMOB) and receive information about and how to participate in our upcoming Multicultural Night on 5/9/24. Since April is Arab-American Heritage Month, on Thursday students will learn about Arab-American history, culture, and contributions. Finally, a reminder that Monday 4/22/24 is an Asynchronous Lesson learning day for students to make up for one of the inclement weather school closures earlier this year. There is NO in-person school and students are expected to complete assignment(s) for classes at home. On Friday, 4/19, all teachers will be reviewing the logistics of how and what students should complete on Monday, 4/22/24 while at home.

An important reminder that during MCAP testing, electronic devices of any kind are strictly prohibited. This includes and is not limited to, phones, smart watches, and electronic bluetooth or headphone devices such as airpods or beats. If students bring their device(s)s into the testing classroom location, they will be asked to turn them off and turn the devices into their testing administrator until the end of test. Please remind your student(s) to charge their chromebooks in the evening at home as we are limited with charging devices and loaner chromebooks. Thank you for your support. That is all for now #TimberwolfNation! Wishing you all a sunny week!
