A Little About Me...
I grew up in Franklin, TN and graduated from Franklin High School. I earned my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Memphis and my master's degree from Union University.
Before I came to Bailey Station, I taught in a Reading First school. Reading First was a federal grant that required all K-3 teachers to receive 90 hours of reading training a year. I worked under the grant for 3 years. Therefore, I have had approximately 270 hours of explicit reading training.
I am the proud recipient of the Bailey Station SCEA Distinguished Classroom Teacher award for the 2008-2009 school year, Bailey Station Teacher of the Year for the 2010-2011 school year, and the 2010-2011 Rotary Teacher of the Year.
I have been teaching for a total of 18 years and I've been at BSE for 12 years. I am one of the Instructional Coaches at BSE for the 2017-2018 school year. I feel very blessed to be a part of this fabulous BSE family!
