Mrs. Nesbit
Hello, My name is Melissa Nesbit and I am the Gym Teacher at NDES. My husband, Mike and I have 2 children. Bentley is in first grade at NDES. Our daughter, Kinsley, is in Pre-School. As a family we enjoy playing golf, watching IU basketball, and going on vacation. I grew up in Decatur County and graduated from North Decatur in 2010. This is my 4th year at NDES. I'm very proud to be a North Decatur Charger!
Mrs. Downey
Hello, My name is Tonya Downey. I teach Music for Grades K-3 and assist with Second Grade. This is my first year at NDE and I’ve loved every minute of it! I live in Greensburg with my husband Brandon, and two sons Grayson and Carson. We enjoy sports, raising poultry, 4H activities, and traveling. My background is in theater and project management. I love being able to share my love of music and the arts with the students at NDE!

Mrs. Melugin
My name is Angie Melugin and this is my fourth year at NDES. My first three years were as Tech Lab instructor, but this year with the added twist of the Innovation Studio instructor teaming up with Megan Schildknecht (Mrs.S) . I've learned so much and continue having fun with the students as we discover new things together! I have been working in education for about eleven years. My husband, Rick, and I have three kids: two in college and the youngest is a Senior in high school. We've lived in Kansas, Ohio, and Indiana. In our "spare time" we hang out with teenagers at our church, visit family in various parts of the country, and attempt DIY projects that are often over our heads! I really enjoy the atmosphere at NDES! It's great being a Charger!

October Character Counts Students
These students displayed the trait of being honest.
FUN WITH OUR SENSES!
This week, Miss Blair teamed up with Miss Prairie to teach students more about their five senses during Art class. Some of the fun activities included: "Guess the Sound!", "What's that Pic?", and an exercise where students volunteered to be blindfolded and use their senses of touch, smell, and taste to identify a piece of candy. The lesson culminated with a treat that all students could enjoy with all five senses... Icee Pop Rocks!
Cookie "Fossil" Dig in Third Grade
Mrs. Burkett's Child Development Class came over and made a guitar craft for letter G, brought playdoh for us to build sight words with, and joined us for a brain break!
Fun in The Innovation Studio
Students created circuits using sensors this week. They had to use a sound trigger without their voice by adjusting the sensitivity and tapping the sensor to make the fan turn on.
