Student Led Conferences - Tuesday, February 18th
With the assorted use of powerschool, Bloomz, emails, phone calls, returned assignments, seesaw, Google classroom...you have already heard A LOT from your child’s teacher. Student led conferences are an opportunity for your child to truly shine and share their work with you, their biggest fans. Your child has worked closely with his/her teacher to develop goals to recognize their strengths and to develop goals to address any weaknesses. Attending this conference is a vital opportunity for you to demonstrate to your child how much you value their efforts at school, while trusting and respecting their ability to reflect on their learning. If a deployed parent's schedule permits, you are welcome to include them through your own electronic means (ex. Facebook Messenger or Facetime). Student led conferences will be held from 1:00-6:00 on Tuesday, Feb 18th. Look to your individual teacher’s communication if they are going to specify a meeting time within that time frame. Otherwise, feel free to bring other siblings. We will have a movie playing in the commons to help keep them occupied.
Encore Request
We are excited to offer a World Cultures Encore class to our 4-8th graders. We are looking for family members that would like to visit our Encore to share various aspects of a culture, such as language, traditions, food, clothing, history etc. If you are interested in sharing about a culture with which you are familiar, please let the office or your child's teacher know. We would love to hear from you.
DANGER COLD!!!
Although we will not be outside for precess or recess when it is colder than 20 below zero, please continue to send your child with all of their gear. Here's a link to our cold weather clothing guidelines.
DoDEA Technology Update
One of our DoDEA grants supports iPads and technology application in the 1st- 3rd grade classrooms. We have 1:1 iPads across all primary grades, allowing for the other devices to be available for other grades throughout the school. A recent addition in several classrooms is the interactive tv placed at a reachable height for maximum student engagement. This picture is from Ms. Dugger's 1st grade room.
