Room 406
Mrs. Hall's 3rd Grade 2016-2017
HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2017 is off to a crazy start! 2 snow days the first week back?!? Although our week was a bit choppy, it was still a really great week! We enjoyed being together again, learning, laughing, and sharing our goals for the new year.
Did you know that our school gets FREE CASH just by collection BOX TOPS!? Please clip & save those box tops and send in to school anytime! This is an easy way to help fund our school PTA and their activities.
Don't forget to check out the Shutterfly site! It's so cool to see your kids in action! (link above)
Reading
Be sure to ask your student about their reading level! I finished assessing everyone...finally!
This week we worked on a really difficult skill in reading. We read our nonfiction books to find the main idea of each section. This isn't always easy! We realized that when we read nonfiction books it feels like ALL of the information is important. We determined that we can use the headings to help us zero in on the most important idea in each section.
Math
Our next unit in math is Multi-Digit Addition and Subtraction. We will dig deeper with regrouping and story problems.
Social Studies
- "Well, he wouldn't be very happy if he saw how some people in the world were treating others."
- "Dr. Martin Luther King was a leader through his words. He never had to use money or weapons to get people to believe in him."
- "I want to live in a world that treats everyone equally."
