Happy Holidays!
As we wrap up this last week before the break I wanted to take a moment to wish you a very happy holiday season. I hope you get the chance to create wonderful memories with friends and family!
I hope you were able to make it to our Wizard of Oz performances last week. Both casts were amazing! This was my first Patterson play experience and it was an incredible one! Awesome job to all of our students who performed and help put on these two productions and a huge shout out to Mrs. Elison and Mr. Twigg for their dedication. It was great to see family and friends supporting these young actors and actresses and also to see our parents helping make sure the set and students were ready to go!
This last Saturday we also had five Mathletes from our Math Olympiads club compete in the Perennial Math Championships in Molalla. They competed well and the parents and coaches joined in the fun with their own math test! Nice job representing Patterson.
This Friday we have a Spirit Day- all students and staff are invited to wear Pajamas to school.
Wishing you a wonderful week!

TREX Recycling Challenge
Last year the district collected over 7,000 pounds of plastic, WOW! For the second year, all Hillsboro schools & support buildings are participating in the TREX Film Plastic Recycling Challenge, which runs through April 22, 2018.
Students, staff, family, and friends are invited to bring in plastic bags and plastic wrap to our bin in the main hall. Each bag collected will be weighed and recorded monthly until the competition’s end. After the materials are turned in, TREX will transform them into composite lumber, saving the plastic from adding to the landfill or clogging up sorting machines at the recycling center.
The winning schools/site—which will be announced on Earth Day, April 22, 2018—will receive a TREX bench.
What can be recycled?
Grocery bags
Bread bags
Case overwrap
Dry cleaning bags
Newspaper sleeves
Ice bags
Wood pellet bags
Ziploc and other closable bags
Produce bags
Bubble wrap
Salt bags
Cereal bags
All plastic must be clean, dry, and mostly free of food residue.
