Canada in 2035
By Calvin
Introduction
Hello, my name is Calvin, have you ever wondered how Canada will be in the future. If so lets try to predict the future of Canada in 2035?Also lets explore the future of the four main categories like Changing Populations, Interactions in The physical environment, Managing Canada's Resources and Industries and Liveable Communities
Changing Populations
First of all, We will be taking a look at Changing Populations in Canada. Canada Population has declined a bit, because of a lot of people emigrating out a Canada. In Contrast Canada is in situation right now where, their skilled workers are decreasing. Further more Canada still needs immigrants or skilled workers to keep the economy stable. In general not a lot of people are immigrating to Canada. The current population is standing at a 35 million. FNMI are immigrating to Canada. They're in major urban centers. Also They're a large population in Canada.
In my research, I have found out that, Canada's population has shown a change. For example the number of births has slightly decreased and The number of deaths has increased. In Contrast the aging populations, natural increase is estimated to continue to decrease in the future decades. My hypothesis is that the people that want rights, freedom, health care, job opportunities, Education and better lifestyles will probably immigrate here. From my findings, I inferred that the FNMI population will start to decline a bit since, the cultural is being sent back, and people are forgetting about the population.
Interactions in the Physical Environment
Canada's Climate is Considered to be very frosty right now.Climate is many cases is a continuous weather right now it is winter. In my research, there are six climate factors and are condensed into one called "LOWERN." IT represents Latitude, Ocean Currents, Wind and air masses, Elevation, Relief and Near water. There are eight land form regions in Canada. For example they are called, The Western Cordillera, The Canadian Shield, The Hudson Bay Lowlands, Appalachian Regions, Arctic Lowlands, Interior Plains, St Lawrence lowlands and Innuitian Mountains. Moving on. Also in my studies, I have noticed that there are many vegetation zones, In Canada like Deciduous Forest, Tundra, Boreal Mixed Wood Forest, Cordillera and West Coast Forest.
In Many Cases, Increasing temperatures caused by Climate change will make the water of the climate change will make the water of the oceans expand. It is on estimate saying sea levels could rise by as much as 25 to 50 cm. This issue could effect low- lying coastal areas and causing flooding. Furthermore Changes in weather will affect many of Canada's crops growth. Crops like wheat and rice grow in high temperatures, thus causing Crop failure. In Canada a lot of plants and animal's homes will be affected. For example as climate changes occurs. Our daily weather and normal temperatures will change. As if the colder places that they call their homes melt, that type of species could become extinct.
Managing Canada's Resources and Industries
Canada has a plethora of resources. The four major resources consist of Forestry, Mining, Agriculture and Fishing. In contrast there are other resources like minerals, water, oil, energy and etc. Canada has many resources, and currently is trying to use it more sustainability. Canada is known for a very big resource consumer. If we as a whole country can work together in for filling our goal in sustaining our resources.Canada has many global connections with a lot of countries. The highest country is the U.S.A in 2012, Canada's total exports were valued at $455 billion. Canada's top commodity is oil and mineral fuels.
Canada is usually connected to the world as either a trading partners or in war. For example NAFTA is a great example of how Canada and America has different trades. Also if England goes to war, Canada usually helps. In my research, it has shown that our oil and water will be our most valuable resources. Our neighbors like America are paying high prices for the cost of oil, and even water for their taps. We can use them more sustainability by not burning a lot of fossil fuels, not using oil for cars, if we can just walk. Also we can do the littlest things like turn the tap off if we are not using it or unplug the tv if your watching.
NAFTA
Here we can see how Canada, America and Mexico are connected in a trade called NAFTA.
Sustainable Resource Management
We can save our resource, by not wasting any of it. Take the three R's for example. Also we can do the littlest things to conserve a vital resource.
Total Trade Surplus
From Canada's total exports they were estimated to be valued at $455 billion.
Liveable Communities
Canadian cities are facing major climate change issues. For example poor air quality is a great example of green house gases. This issue has devastating effects like increased risk of respiratory and cardiovascular problems. Also our economy will be effected as well. If we were to explore the issues to our economy, there are all like how Agriculture, Forestry, Tourism and recreation could be affected by changing weather patterns. Urban Sprawl is destroying our farm land which is a major fresh resources for local supermarkets and stores. If we lose this type of land, our farms will be gone.
In my perspective, I think Ontario will deal with the issue of Urban sprawl by using the rule of tiny growth, using public transit and taxi. Also as well as trains, subways, bikes, walking trails and paths. Otherwise finally its surrounded by local greenbelts of protected farmlands and green space. After my research, I can say cities will become sustainable in the near future by using the important principle of waste management, controlling sprawl, environmental areas, efficient transportation, and energy or water. Those are the principles, I think how cities can become sustainable.
Conclusion
In Conclusion, after studying all four fantastic units I learnt that Canada's population has declined a bit. This is caused by people emigrating out of Canada, Climate change has devastating effects, in which if we can't put a stop to it, our world will be changed forever. Canada has a lot of valuable resources to offer with trading partners. Also how Canadian cities have major problems to deal with if they want to become more sustainable. Thank you for reading my blog and i hope your learnt as much as i did.
