Reminder: EWRSD Upcoming Early Dismissal and School Closings
All East Windsor Regional School District schools will follow an early dismissal schedule on Thursday, March 28.
Schools will be closed from Friday, March 29 until Friday, April 5. Kidcare will also be closed.
Schools will reopen on Monday, April 8.
Ethel McKnight Elementary School second-graders are learning to count money in math.
Grace N. Rogers Elementary School's Mr. Newman and Orchestra students played while students arrived for the day!
Perry L. Drew Elementary School students had so much fun getting up close and personal with their growing chicks! Talk about hands-on research!
On March 15, over 60 students, family members, and volunteers came together to celebrate Melvin H. Kreps Middle School Comic-con! Participants could create crafts like pokemon origami bookmarks, superhero masks, perler bead projects, and button-making. The Spiderverse-themed escape room entertained everyone, and the panels informed and engaged students in thought-provoking discussions. Participants learned how to play Marvel Code Names, did a manga scavenger hunt, and met a professional artist. All in all, everyone enjoyed sharing their love of comics, crafts, and games with their families and community.
Hightstown High School PE Elective: Adventure Education Class went on a Field Trip to the Rockville Climbing Center in Hamilton NJ. It was an awesome trip!
This adventure based class offered for grades 10-12 focuses on teamwork, and problem solving. The class plans to use the low rope course at HHS in the spring.
One senior from each Hightstown High School club and sport is nominated to represent their club/sport. Each representative will partake in various rounds in an elimination-style competition such as a group dance number, talent show, spelling bee, interview, and more! The winner will be proclaimed HHS's Ram of the Year with prizes and honor for their club/sport!
Last week, Mayor Mironov from East Windsor and her council members invited the Hightstown High School cheer team to be recognized for their accomplishments all season as well as their two State Championship titles. Additionally, , the Hightstown Council and Mayor Bluth invited the team to their meeting and once again the team was recognized for their amazing accomplishments!
HIGHTSTOWN FBLA had the best performance in school history at the NJ FBLA State Leadership Conference (SLC) 2024!

Today, the HHS Business Department hosted the Business Symposium where this year we had five guest speakers - Tony Arroyo, owner of Revolution Wrestling Club and Aether Athletics; Bill Hartz, owner of Bordentown Spartan Bootcamp; Dave Puskar, owner of Old Hights Brewing Company; Purvi Dogra, Top 16 Finalist on Season 13 of MasterChef and owner of Everything But Plates; and Dwight Neptune, HHS Class of 2017 Graduate and owner of Beagle Drones - provide insight into their experiences in following their interests in order to become entrepreneurs. The 100 Business students who attended were then able to participate in breakout groups where they learned more about the industry of their choice in a smaller setting with the guest speakers.
EWRSD Strategic Planning - Meeting #2 Outcomes
On March 14, 2024, East Windsor Regional School District administrators, Board of Education members, staff, parents, students, and community members, fifty-four (54) in all, came together to continue the strategic planning process.
The third strategic planning session is scheduled for: Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 6:00 p.m.
During the April 17 meeting, participants will review the outcomes from meetings 1 and 2 and develop broad goal statements, objectives and strategies for the goal areas identified above. These strategic planning goals will guide the board and district over the next 3 – 5 years.

2024-2025 Integrated Preschool Lottery Process
Enrollment is open to non-disabled preschool students who will be selected via a lottery process. Tuition for the program will be $325 per month.
Lottery applications must be returned no later than 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2024.
Homework Free Holidays for 2023-24
In an effort to provide a sense of balance and to promote time spent with family, students will not receive homework assignments or long-term projects that are due when they return to school after the breaks listed below. In addition, tests and quizzes are not permitted to be administered on the first school day following the break.
