Wayra is a start-up accelerator which was started in Latin America and Spain in 2011 as an initiative of Telefónica's chief executive in Europe, José María Álvarez-Pallete. The start-up companies receive funding, office space and mentoring. In 2013, there were 14 Wayra academies in 12 countries in Europe and Latin America and Telefónica planned to support about 350 startups altogether.

Pablo Campos is an entrepreneur and experimented innovation engineer. Former Googler, he is now leading the business development of an "internet of things" project related to the automotive industry. His experience begins in the Telco industry; in Telefonica, Jazztel and Vodafone, but his "startup passion" starts in 2009 working as the COO of Quobis. From this time to now, Pablo has been involved in the startup ecosystem, both in Spain and Switzerland, where he has been working for the StreetView team at the Google engineering headquarter.
Derek Andersen, Founder at Startup Grind
Derek Andersen is the founder of Startup Grind, a 100 city community educating, inspiring, and connecting entrepreneurs in 45 countries. Startup Grind has more than 500 volunteers hosting hundreds of educational events each year. Startup Grind's core values of helping others, giving first, and making friends have spread across the world.
In 2009 he founded Vaporware Labs incubating mostly failed products but also a few successes including Startup Grind, and professional social network Commonred. In 2012 Commonred was acquired by Income.com.
Before 2009 he worked at Electronic Arts on games like Burnout, Mirror's Edge, The Sims, and The Godfather The Game. Derek has lived 8-years outside the United States in countries like France, Switzerland, Germany, England, the Cook Islands and New Zealand. He speaks fluent Cook Island Maori and currently lives in Palo Alto California with his wife and three children.
