NRHS UPDATE

A Message From The Principal
Dear Nashoba Families,
Congratulations to our seniors on your last week of class! We know this was not how you expected your senior year to end, but we thank you for your perseverance throughout this difficult time . We are proud of your accomplishments and can't wait to see what the future brings for each of you!
As I mentioned last week to our underclassmen -- you are in the final stretch. We have a few more weeks of remote learning and need you to stay strong and stay engaged!
Underclassmen/Senior Obligations -- Please check your PowerSchool account for any outstanding obligations (fees, books, uniforms, etc.).
Lastly, I wanted to remind everyone that Monday is Memorial Day as we honor the men and women who served our country. Due to the holiday, there will be no work assigned on that day and remote learning will pick back up on Tuesday.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Stephen Cullinane
Interim Principal
Curbside Pick-Up of Underclassmen Student Locker Belongings
Beginning May 26th through May 28th, all parents/guardians are asked to adhere to the schedule and protocol outlined below to collect their child’s locker belongings and return any athletic uniforms/equipment that students may still have from this year. Our schedule and process has been developed to limit the number of students and parents/guardians on campus and to support state guidelines related to social distancing.
Schedule: The schedule for these days was sent via email.
Tuesday, May 26, 2020
Wednesday, May 27, 2020
Thursday, May 28, 2020
Process: No parents/guardians/students will be allowed in the building. Members of the Nashoba staff will facilitate the curbside pick-up. All student locker belongings have already been bagged, labeled, and organized.
Before Arrival
Write your child’s first and last name and grade level on a piece of paper (bold/dark lettering) which can be viewed by us from your car window as you pull into the school parking lot. This will help us with efficiency!
Pack-up athletic uniforms/equipment in a bag that is clearly labeled with your child’s first and last name and sport. We will have a drop-off bin for these items upon your arrival.
All library books and textbooks will be kept with your child until the beginning of next year. We will collect all books in the Fall of 2020.
Upon Arrival
Please wear a mask.
Adhere to the timeframe provided (schedule was emailed).
Drive into the school parking lot from Green Road and pull up in front of the HS main entrance. Please stay in your car. We will follow a curbside process pick-up/drop-off process.
Show the sign you have made with your child’s name/grade.
A Nashoba staff member will hand you your child’s locker belonging bag. At this time, if you have an athletic uniform you can hand it to the staff member.
Unclaimed items will be kept until September at which time all unclaimed items will be donated.
Seniors - Save the Date!
June 2, 2020 - Pick-up/Drop-off Day (More details will be sent out next week!)
Senior Scholarships and Awards Night
Typically, Senior Scholarships and Awards Night is the first Monday in June each year. We are happy to let you know that it will be the same for this year. The local cable access companies have agreed to simultaneously show a video presentation we are preparing, at 6pm on June 1st, 2020 - the same time that it would have taken place at NRHS in a typical year. We plan to invite all awarded seniors, along with their families, to view it on television at that time. As in a typical year, seniors will not know which scholarship(s) they were awarded until it is announced.
Viewing Information:
Stow - Channel 8 on Comcast / Channel 32 on Verizon
Bolton/Lancaster/Sterling - Channel 8
Bolton offers an online option too at https://bolton-ma.vod.castus.tv/vod/?live=ch1&view=5

Athletic Department Update
Congratulations to the Class of 2020! Thank you for your leadership and dedication to Nashoba over your four years. We will miss seeing you on our playing fields, courts, track, and campus! I am proud of your accomplishments and can't wait to see what you do in the future! Always remember... Once a Chieftain, always a Chieftain!
A few updates...
Uniform Collection: If you still have a uniform(s) from this year, please take the time to find your uniform and put it in a large ziplock bag with your name and sport on it so you can turn it in. Underclassmen will be scheduled on May 26-28th and Seniors on June 2nd. During your scheduled time, you will be able to turn in athletic uniform(s)/equipment. Also, you will see uniforms show up in your son/daughter’s PowerSchool account – this is to help our department keep track of what is out there.
Recognizing Senior Spring Student-Athletes: Please check out the Nashoba Athletics social media sites as we are honoring our spring senior student-athletes!
Fall Sports: Online registration for fall sports is OPEN! Please register your son/daughter by June 14th so our coaches can send out program information through email by the end of June.
As always, if you have questions or concerns, please feel to reach out to me via email (trich@nrsd.net).
Nashoba Strong,
Tania Rich
Director of Athletics
Note from the Health Office
Hello Nashoba Families,
We hope this continues to find you and your family healthy. Thank you to those who have reached out to discuss any health concerns. We continue to be here to support you and your family while away from school.
Well, the classrooms and the health office are being cleaned and packed up for summer early this year. We will be returning all of our students' (your children's) medications and medical supplies to you. Please follow the schedule and instructions provided by Mr. Cullinane regarding the pickup for locker belongings. We will have a table in front of the high school and will be returning all medications (including epipens, inhalers and medical supplies) during this time.
If the time assigned does not work for you for medication pickup, please email us and we will do our best to make accommodations.
We look forward to seeing you and we wish you and your family continued health and happiness.
Thank you,
Nurse Sarah - sdelcontecosentino@nrsd.net
