Why You Need To Plant Native

Motto
Why Should You?
- It can save you water
- It is low maintenance
- Helps Wildlife in several ways
- Prevents invasive plants from spreading
Now you may be asking yourself how planting native plants can achieve the things mentioned above. It can save you water because it is adapted to the climate you put it in. Once in the ground it is in an environment that it knows and it can survive strictly on rainfall. It is low maintenance because they need little to no pesticides because once again they are adapt to surviving with the native wildlife.
Ok now we move on to the wildlife. By planting native plants you provide food, shelter, and a place to reproduce naturally. We have taken 54% of the land in the U.S. and turned it into suburbs and cities. We have taken 41% of the land and used it for agriculture. That is 95% of all the land in the U.S.!
You might be thinking "We have parks and places where we can't build. Isn't that enough?" The answer is no. There aren't enough parks and they don't house enough land to support all the wildlife.
