Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we approach the culmination of your child's senior year, we are thrilled to celebrate their remarkable achievements. This newsletter outlines the upcoming key dates, times, and events honoring the graduating Class of 2024.
Our commitment is to ensure these graduation events create lasting memories for every family. We deeply appreciate the unwavering love and support you have provided these exceptional students. Their perseverance and leadership have undoubtedly prepared them for a bright future.

In addition to celebrating accomplishments, we want to emphasize student safety throughout the graduation season. We encourage all families to discuss the importance of responsible and healthy celebrations with their graduating seniors.

May 17th - Seniors last day of school, Final Exams, Farewell Assembly, 10:30 AM, Senior Barbeque, 11:30 AM
May 20th - Eagle Pride Trip, Cedar Point
May 21st - Senior Awards High School Auditorium 6:30 pm
May 22nd- Graduation Practice MANDATORY, 11 AM-2:30 PM (Senior Brunch, Receive Cap/Gown), Parade of Graduates at the elementary school campus, 1:30 PM
May 22nd - Baccalaureate 6 pm
May 23rd - Graduation at Columbia Central, 7pm
Checklist-Things to do before the last day of school
To do list before the last day of school, May 17
- Senior Video- (If you have not done so yet.) Please send a baby photo and senior photo of your child to school no later than May 6. Please email all photos to kendon.smith@myeagles.org. In addition, the photos may be given to Mr. Smith by placing them in an envelope with your name on them in order for us to return them properly.
- Fees for outstanding uniforms, library check-outs/textbooks, calculators, Chromebooks, or other school-related items-All fees will be posted to PowerSchool and it will be updated with any new information through May 17. Student fees must be paid prior to graduation. If you are having difficulty paying a fee, please contact nianne.prendel@myeagles.org for support.
- New College Emails-Many Seniors have committed to the college/university they plan to attend in the Fall. Students should be checking their new college-associated email for important information and updates.
- We encourage all Seniors to complete the FAFSA. There is still time if you have not done so yet.

Senior Bonfire and Senior Sunset-May 16

Please come together to share in this special moment for our Senior class as the sun sets on May 16. the bonfire will be held near the outdoor volleyball court and Senior Sunset will be held at the Columbia Central Football Field. It will be a great opportunity to take photos of the class!
Last day of school for Seniors, Send-Off Assembly and BBQ-May 17

11:30 AM-Senior BBQ

Graduation Information
Important Information for Graduation Events
- Tuesday, May 21, 6:30 PM-Senior Awards and Scholarship Assembly, Columbia Central Auditorium
- Wednesday, May 22, 11 AM-It is required for all seniors to attend graduation practice
11 AM-12 PM-Senior Brunch
12-1:15 PM-Graduation practice on the field
1:30 PM-Parade of Graduates, Columbia Elementary School Campus
Graduates will parade in the outdoor area, parents may attend. Caps and gowns will be provided to all students prior to the parade.
Baccalaureate, 6 PM, Heart of the Lakes Church-Graduates and their families are invited to attend
Thursday, May 23-Graduation, 7 PM, Columbia Central Jr./Sr. High School Football Field-Students should arrive at their scheduled time for photos beginning at 5 PM. There is no limit on the number of guests who may attend and we will not hand out tickets. Guests will be permitted to enter the football field area beginning at 6:30 PM. Please do not enter before 6:30 PM
FAQ-Graduation
1. What if it rains?
The event will be moved to the gymnasium if there is inclement weather. The decision will be made no later than 3 PM on the day of graduation. We will send out a text alert to all Senior families, post the information on our website and social media sites if any changes are made.
2. Are tickets required to attend graduation?
No tickets are required and there is no limit to the amount of guests. The gate will open to the event at 6:30 PM for spectators. All guests must remain in the bleacher area until the ceremony is over.
3. How long is graduation?
Approximately one hour.
4. Can I take photos during graduation?
Yes, please feel free to take photos of your graduate throughout the ceremony.
5. Will professional photos be available for purchase?
