Shine Bright with Supt. Rebecca A. Jenkins
Dear District 70 Families:
You've likely noticed a few extra messages from me this month, and there's a good reason for that. In our recent Board of Education meeting, we made significant strides toward enhancing our district's leadership and safety measures. I'm excited to share that Annette McBride will join us as the new Principal of Copeland Manor, and Zucia Donev will take on the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services role. Their expertise is key to our commitment to Learning Together in District 70.
In a collaborative effort to bolster the safety and security within our schools, we've also formed a partnership with Lake Bluff School District 65. This intergovernmental agreement allows us to hire a shared Director of Safety and Security, reflecting our ongoing dedication to creating a secure atmosphere for our staff and students. We have made important enhancements to our systems, protocols, and technology in recent years and now we will have an expert in the field leading our efforts moving forward. By combining resources, we're enhancing our vigilance while managing costs effectively. We're in the process of selecting our Director of Safety and Security and will keep you updated on our progress.
As we approach the last trimester, it's the perfect time to lay the groundwork for the 2024-2025 school year. Being ahead in our planning and hiring processes positions us well to attract and secure the best talent, ensuring we have the right individuals in the right roles.
Please join me in welcoming Mrs. McBride and Ms. Donev to our District 70 family this July, as we also anticipate a new Director of Safety and Security joining the team.
Looking ahead, we're poised for a dynamic fourth quarter and a bright 2024-2025 school year in District 70. Thank you for your continued support and engagement.
Shine Bright,
Rebecca

We Need Parents/Guardians to Share Their Voice in the 5Essentials Survey!
Each year, parents/guardians, teachers, and students are asked to provide input on their school. This data, along with school achievement data from the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) and student attendance is summarized and becomes a part of the “School Report Card.” For the information to be included in the school report card, a school needs at least 20% of parents to respond.
We've heard from some of you. Is your voice included? If not, please share your input before March 29th when the survey closes.
