November 2018
What a wonderful month November has been! We hope you enjoyed the time with family and friends. Thank you for the opportunity to learn with your child.
K-Kids
Fifth graders participated in our Halloween service project by preparing goodie bags for our community members who are blessed through Meals on Wheels. It was great fun!
K-kids were also able to thank our outstanding board members for their service!
Thank you, Margaret Davis, for the opportunity.
In Social Studies, students studied major land and water features of the United States including oceans, gulfs, rivers, lakes, bays, plains, deserts, mountains, latitude lines, neighboring countries, and the ten largest cities. They learned all of the states and their capitals and enjoyed an in depth comparison and contrast study of the regions of the United States. The unit's summative project was their clay map creation and legend.
Fourth Grade
Fourth graders have been completed lots of investigations this month. They designed and constructed water insulators for a class competition, tested properties of soils, and experienced the effects of gravity, friction and magnetism on motion.
Third Grade
Energy! Third graders have been learning about thermal, light, sound and mechanical energy by exploring a variety of objects and analyzing the type of energy produced.
We have had so much fun!
Second Grade
Second graders enjoyed writing their own word problems that required regrouping.
The unit review through Breakout was a huge success.
Our students are so clever!
First Grade
Our first graders learned about force and motion through center activities and then created their own unique vehicle. Science rocks!
