Tiger Feedback
March 8, 2024
Park Family,
Dead Poets Society is probably my favorite movie (way old school πππ). Robin Williams is a new English Teacher at an all boys prep high school. It is a powerful movie. This quote about is from the poet Walt Wittman about life, identity, and purpose. Robin Williams, being a master teacher, asks a relevant and rigorous question, "What will your verse be?"
Building on the theme of "Story" that we discussed in the Family Meeting, we all are contributing to each other's story (including each of our Tigers) and the grand story of Cypress Park.
As you take some time to relax and refresh over Spring Break, ask yourself about your story. What are some aspects that you would like to continue to grow in? What are some areas that you would like to adjust? And then think about what you are contributing to the story of Cypress Park. How are you helping to create the powerful and positive narrative that we all want for our Tigers, Park Family, and CommUnity?
I wish you all a great Spring Break! Enjoy your time and well deserved break!
Chris

The Big Art Show! Vertical Team Showcase!
On Wednesday evening, Cypress Park hosted "The Big Art Show!" This event is culmination of work that our elementary, middle and high schools have been collaborating on all year. The project was each school would build upon the theme of "Under the Sea." An elementary school student would create their piece of work then pass their art to the middle school. The middle school student would create their own piece based on the elementary student's art. The middle school work is transferred to the high school Art 1 students and then to the Advanced Art students. The Big Art Show would then display the four pieces of the same theme together as seen above.
The kids from the vertical school pattern really enjoyed meeting each other who participated in the same series. It was awesome!
Huge thanks to Ashley Due for championing this event. Special thanks to:
- Carmen Grigg and Kelly Bates-Schoeder who had their students participate in completing the series this year.
- Jayne Zalewski for involving her 3D students in underwater sculptures.
- Melissa Joseph and her class helping hang and organize the show.
- Ashley Due and Javier Pulido has their photography students work displayed as well.
Congratulations to all! What a great tradition to start at The Park and with our CommUnity!
