MASSW Treasurer:
Jessica Gouin-Trupiano
Jessica is a current member of Region A. She graduated from Wayne State University and has over 15 years experience as a licensed social worker at the masters level. Fields of employment experience include Juvenile Justice, Wrap Around, Domestic Adoption, Child Welfare and Wendy's Wonderful Kids (WWK) Supervisor, as well as School Social Work. In the role of supervisor, she was responsible for annual grant proposal writing and renewal, as well as financial management of the WWK program budgets. Additionally, Jessica served as Treasurer of the Wyandotte Indians Little League Football Club in the early 2000's. She is the lead social worker in her department and provides guidance and insight as a mentor to limited licensed social workers. Over the years, Jessica has enjoyed the role field supervisor and helped shape future social workers through their intern placements with Wayne State University, University of Michigan, Oakland County Community College, Madonna and University of Southern California. Jessica's enthusiasm for School Social Work allows her to continue educating herself so that she can increase her ability to connect with the students and families, She currently is working on the implementation of a Peer to Peer program, as well as year one of SEL program in her district. She will work diligently to empower others, as she represents school social workers and the MASSW, in this professional role. Connecting with like-minded professionals is one of the most empowering aspects of SSW and she will strive to represent you, the organization, in the most professional manner.
MASSW Vice President:
Michel DeJulian LMSW, ACSW
Ms. DeJulian is a graduate of Hillsdale College and the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. She holds a double Master’s degree in Psychology and Social Work in the areas of clinical and macro level work. She is also a certified School Social Worker. Ms. DeJulian’s areas of specialty are anxiety disorders in children with a concentration on Childhood Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Special Education Certification and Law. She has over 30 years of clinical and school social work experience combined. Ms. DeJulian is a member of the Wayne Coordinated School Health Council, Wayne Trauma and Loss Crisis Team member, the Special Education Advisory Committee Representative for the State of Michigan and the current Region A Past President for the Michigan Association of School Social Workers. Additionally, she has served as the Vice President for the MASSW State Board since 2016.
