Copeland Hoofbeat
Friday, December 14th
From the Principal
Dear Copeland Families,
We are so excited about our winter parties next Friday, December 21st. Please be sure to send in your RSVP if you have not already if you will be attending. We would hate for you to miss the party standing in line to check in on party day!
It is hard to believe that 2018 is quickly coming to an end. It has been such a great start to our school year! We have had so many fun things this semester with Field Days, Colonial Days and our Fifth Grade Program last week just to mention a few. We are looking forward to a busy spring semester with our Father Daughter Dance, Mother Son event and so much more. The end of the second marking period will be January 18th, and report cards will be going home on January 28th, 2019.
There are still many coats and jackets in our lost and found! We will be putting them all out again on our stage in the cafeteria at Copeland when we return, and we will allow students to look for their lost items during all lunches. All items not claimed will be donated to a local charity on January 11th at the end of the school day.
Our Pennies for Patients kickoff will be January 14th, 2019. Students will receive boxes to fill with their change and bills to support research for cancer. The class who raises the most money will earn an Olive Garden pasta party! How exciting!
Be safe, and have lots of fun with your families during our break from school! I cannot wait to see you all in the new year, and I am looking forward to an amazing 2019.

The Giving Tree
A Copeland Tradition!
During this special time of year Copeland is helping Texas Children’s Hospital by providing toys for their patients. Families that have children receiving medical care often struggle financially and spend the majority of their time in the hospital alongside their child. Your gift of a toy, large or small, will be given to help a child smile!
Please bring your new unwrapped gift on Friday, December 21st. On that day, the Copeland tradition continues with a processional of students carrying their gifts to the stage and placing them under our tree
From the Art Teacher
Thank you for the donations of materials for the art classroom.
I am once again in need of cardboard tubes (tp, paper towel, and wrapping paper tubes all work.) I am also taking donations of Crayola Air Dry Clay, old magazines (keep in mind kids will be looking at them), salt, flour (white), baggies (gallon size and quart size) and laundry lids
A note from the nurse:
Per our district policy, all medication must be transported to and from school by an adult and signed in at the clinic. All medication must also be in its original, unopened and unexpired container. Please do not send medication to school with your student. Thank you for helping to keep our students safe!
