Peterson's News
2/26-3/1
Good evening,
Did you do your homework?? Are you tired of hearing about the 5Essentials?? These two questions are connected - if you do your homework, then you don't need hear about the 5Essentials. In addition, I thought it would be fun to give some incentives and have our students benefit!!! 😀
Your homework is to complete the 5Essentials survey! The 5Essentials is an important tool to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of Peterson from the perspective of teachers, parents, and students. As a parent, your voice is essential! All survey responses are kept confidential.
We really want to hear from as many of you as we can, so we’ve set some high goals.
If we reach 50% by tomorrow, Monday, February 26th then we will have a school-wide jammie day on the 27th.
If we reach 60% by Tuesday, February 27th, we will have a popcorn party for whole-school on the 28thl!!!
I know we can do it! Now, before you read any more - take the survey! Information is below!
To take the parent survey:
1. Visit IL 5Essentials Survey Link, scan the QR code above, or use the button below.
2. Type and select “Dupage” as "County." (The county is the location of the school district's main office.)
3. Type your school's name into the "School" field and select your school.
Reminders!
2nd grade music program is Monday, February 26 at 6:30 PM
We are so excited to show you what we have been working on during music class! Students should arrive by 6:15 PM (enter door 1 or door 13) and go to the LMC. Parents, please take your child’s coat and any other belongings with you when you go to the gym. Following the performance, students will return to the LMC, where you may check them out with their classroom teacher.
Looking forward to seeing you! ~Mrs. Luhn
No School - Thursday, February 29th - Parent Teacher Conferences: 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Spring conferences are scheduled on an as-needed basis. Unlike the Fall, only 1 day off of school (February 29th) is dedicated to spring conferences, so appointments are limited. Teachers are reaching out to families with whom they feel a conference is necessary.
If your child’s teacher does not feel a conference is necessary at this time, but you have a concern, please reach out to your child's teacher to let them know and they will reserve a remaining conference time for you. Remember our staff is always available via email or phone any time you have questions or concerns.

Spring Pictures are Monday, March 4th. The process for ordering will now be paperless, no order forms will be sent out. Previous Information
Our students have put so much effort into their i-Ready assessments! It is such a gift to see them grow each day and i-Ready helps to confirm that growth. Our classroom teachers have collected classroom assessment data as well. This week, our staff will use the data from i-Ready as well as classroom assessments to come together for our winter data reviews. This time allows classroom teachers and support staff to dive into all the data collected and identify needed supports for students on all parts of our bell curve. Your child’s score reports will be available within ParentVUE starting on Friday, February 23, 2024. Please see the document below for more information! This growth is also a kudos to you and all the support you provide for your child--thank you!
