SAT-NCR Testing for Seniors - Wed 10/16
PSAT/NMSQT Testing - Wed 10/30
All sophomores (and any freshman or junior who registers) will participate in the PSAT-National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test on Wednesday, 10/30. This is an extremely important exam for our students as it provides access to the National Merit Scholarship program and many other scholarship opportunities. In addition, the PSAT serves as a concordant score to the Algebra 1 EOC for any student that did not pass the FSA Algebra 1 EOC in the spring. Please encourage all of our Coyote testers to prepare and do their very best!
Freshmen or juniors that want to register should see Mrs. Larimore or Mr. Copeland in the Media Center. Cost is $23 ($5 for students who qualify for free-reduced lunch). Seniors do not participate in the PSAT.

MIDDLE SCHOOL LUNCH SESSIONS
CHAMPS- The overall goal of the CHAMPs classroom management system is to develop an instructional structure in which students are responsible, motivated, and highly engaged in the specific task at hand. More particularly, the teacher's goal is to teach students directly how to be successful in specific class situations.
FORMS- CFAs are becoming a standard practice in our schools. How would you like to learn a simple and quick way to create CFAs that you don’t have to grade?! Using Office365 you can create forms that will allow you give quick digital quizzes or CFAs with no grading required!!
SEESAW- Seesaw is a platform for student engagement. Teachers can empower students to create, reflect, share, and collaborate. Students “show what they know” using photos, videos, drawings, text, PDFs, and links. It’s simple to get student work in one place and share with families, and nothing is shared without teacher approval.
HIGH SCHOOL LUNCH SESSIONS
SOCRATIC SEMINAR- Socratic Seminar is a practical method for encouraging students to investigate multiple perspectives in a text while having intellectual conversation with one another. This method also teaches claim, evidence, counterclaim, refutation, and how to respectfully discuss differing opinions.
Building a Community-When we take the time to get to know our students on a personal level, and are culturally responsive, we let them know we genuinely care about them.
Engaging Routines-Will go over how to incorporate the “Popscicle Sticks” app on your iPad to randomly call on students and create groups. Will also go over how to do 5 minute content reviews in your classroom as a daily routine.

- academic issues after attempts to resolve
- significant changes in attitude, behavior, or academics

- patterns of behavior inconsistent with school mission and motto
- failure to respond to interventions or consequences even after contact home
Feedback forms for each student reviewed will be shared with staff directly related to the student after review.
