Summit Wellness Symposium
Thank you to all parents/guardians who attended Summit's first Wellness Symposium on Wednesday. We would appreciate your feedback on this brief survey so we can better tailor future events to meet the needs of our community.
Handicapped Parking Spots
Please remember that when picking up and dropping off students, handicapped parking spots are reserved ONLY for those with a handicap placard. We understand that the parking lot is hectic during those times, and we appreciate your understanding in keeping the spots available for those with a handicap placard. Those violating this law can face consequences such as ticketing or towing. Thank you for your continued support in helping things run smoothly.
Sneaker Drive
The ECO-Club is running a sneaker drive! Drop off athletic shoes in any condition in the bins by the main entrance. The collection ends April 26th.
Advisory
We were fortunate to have Peer Leaders from the high school come to participate and lead lessons in our 6th and 7th grade Advisories. In sixth grade, our students focused their attention for this Advisory lesson on being fair and helping others who are less fortunate. Students and teachers explored the definition of fair, ways in which one can be fair, and how it feels when one is treated unfairly. Students were given two different scenarios where they had to decide as a group who was going to be given/chosen for a donation/heart. Be sure to ask your child what their group decided and why. In seventh grade, our students continued to Mix-it-Up. This time they mixed it up with their own grade to get to know each other better. Students were split into pairs and had 2 minutes to answer as many questions as possible before switching to chat with another student in the class. As our eighth graders begin the final marking period of their middle school career they had an opportunity to learn a little more about the staff at LCJSMS with “Teacher Trivia”. Students had fun guessing and trying to figure out who was who in the building.
