A Message from Mr. Rymer
I want to take time to thank everyone for making it to the Tech Fair last night. It means the world to the students and I for everyone to see what we are trying to build at Saint Therese and how hard the students have been working in technology.
The students came to school glowing today talking about how exciting it was to share their projects and the positive feedback they received. We left all the work out last night and had all the elementary students come over this morning to see all the students projects.
This community has been so very supportive of the tech program and I just want to thank you all for the donations, positive words, and supporting our students. We will be reaching out to people next week to let you know we have your orders, if you ordered something and don't hear from us, please reach out. Have a wonderful weekend.
Best,
Mr. Rymer
Only to piggyback on Mr. Rymer's comments, I would like to thank the man himself. Mr. Rymer came to us last summer, with big plans to build St. Therese a world-class tech program. He impressed us all right away, but a notable tech program seemed like a far off dream at the time.
Last night was proof positive that Mr. Rymer means what he says and he is well on his way, guiding and enabling St. Therese students to accomplish what would have seemed unbelievable before his arrival. We are so lucky to have him on our staff! Just as he mentioned in his remarks last night, sooner than later, when St. Therese is mentioned, folks will think of "the tech school."
Thank you all for coming, and for supporting the school, the students, Mr. Rymers valiant efforts to make a big mark on the community be enabling our students to engineer, think critically, tinker, repair, adjust, hypothesize, and make a business out of the creations they are working on! It is my hope to provide more community nights like that one. All had a blast. Thank you for coming!
When it comes to our school and our students, I am not above any sales pitch, but in truth, I have dozens of emails with inquiries about how people can support our program. One of the easiest ways is to donate money towards more Chromebooks, or contribute one yourself. Because you asked, this is the link to the humble, affordable Chromebook that was the tool for all the events and creations you witnessed last night.
For any other questions, please contact the school office, myself, Mrs. Barnett (barnetta@stthereseschool.org) or Mr. Rymer (rymerb@stthereseschool.org).
Can't wait to do this again! To the first of many annual St. Therese Tech Fairs! Thank you for joining us!!

What's happening in 8th Grade?
On Monday, the 8th graders had the chance to visit the Oregon Jewish Museum and Holocaust Education Center. For over a month, the 8th graders have been learning about the causes and impact that the Holocaust had on our world today. These students read the memoir "Night" by Elie Wiesel as well as the graphic novel "Maus." The 8th graders also researched a different topic relating to the Holocaust. To end the unit, we visited the museum to learn and discuss more about Human Rights and how to be an advocate for fair treatment of all people. Students explored the different exhibits including Human Rights, Discrimination vs. Advocacy and Survivors of the Holocaust. The museum was a great way to end a difficult unit of study. - Mrs. Baumbach

Great opportunity for St. Therese kids with Metro Youth Symphony
We all know that the many activities for our children can be A LOT! Not only that, there are the associated costs with each of them. Metro Youth Symphony can alleviate a lot of that burden.
Great endorsement from a St. Therese parent whose children participate in the Metro Youth Symphony: "There are scholarships, free instrument loaners, and great structure and leaders for new and aspiring musicians."

Update on 2024 - 2025 School Year Tuition
This year current families will be automatically re-enrolled for the 2024-25 school year, and should contact the office if they do not wish to continue at St. Therese. The annual $200 registration fee will be applied to your FACTS account on April 1st.
We are committed to keeping tuition affordable to all our families and financial aid is available for those who qualify. Our tuition rates are still among the lowest of K-8 Catholic schools in Oregon. Due to inflation and cost of living adjustments for all, our tuition rate for the upcoming school year has gone up to $8,600, which we intentionally kept under a 4% increase.
The deadline was previously posted as March 1st, but the good news is that families may still apply for Financial Aid.
Please use the link to the school website for more information on registration, forms etc.
