The Career Center offers nine Career and Technical Education courses to District 51 high school students. The students earn elective and academic credits towards graduation while learning the vocational and employability skills needed to be successful in today's workforce.

Not sure where to start? The School To Work Alliance Program will be hosting a résumé workshop on March 21st from 9 am – 11am and again April 13th during Parent Teacher conferences in preparation for the Youth Job Fair on May 4, 2017. Writing a résumé when you're a high school student who doesn't have much – or any – prior work experience can seem daunting. Let us help you! This résumé workshop will provide detailed explanations, examples, as well step-by-step processes, for creating an effective résumé. Please call 254-6010 to reserve a space!

Healthcare Occupations
Students in Healthcare were in the lab this week learning about homeostasis and fluid balance. They were able to practice in the lab on our “patients” and calculate their Intake and Output. Students then used their critical thinking skills to determine if patients were dehydrated or fluid overloaded and what could be the cause.
