MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear CMS Families,
WHAT A WEEK AT CMS!! MAP testing, band concert, Family Literacy Night and a school assembly! Today marked the end of the third quarter, and we concluded it with a fantastic PTO-sponsored assembly featuring the Echo Dance Team. The Echo Dance Team brought high energy and delivered a powerful message about anti-bullying.
Our students worked diligently during the MAP assessments this past week, and we appreciate their efforts in showcasing their knowledge and skills. Makeup assessments were scheduled for today, Monday and Tuesday of next week. Your child will be bring home their student progress report next Friday, March 15.

CMS LITERACY NIGHT
Packed House!!
CMS Staff and Malcolm Mitchell
CMS Literacy Night
It was an amazing night seeing students enjoying all of the literacy activities throughout the building then gathering to hear Malcolm’s message. We got so many books to donate to the United Way, and students walked away with a personalized journal.
Malcolm is such a great person—so down-to-earth with an amazing story to share. He tossed the football around with the kids in the gym before his presentation and stayed after to sign autographs for EVERY KID WHO STAYED!
4th-6th CMS SCHEDULING
It's that time of year again! Your students will be scheduling classes for next year coming up next month. Our course guide can be found HERE, and slideshows/videos will be posted to your students' grade-level Google Classrooms as they are created. Here is a general timeline of events:

BEFORE THE BIG CONCERT
PAPER TOWEL DRIVE - BUILDERS CLUB
CMS Builders Club is hosting a paper towel drive March 11th-15th for Rescue Village. Rescue Village is Geauga County’s humane society and takes care of animals year round. Rolls of paper towels are an important resource for Rescue Village as they care for animals in need. Last year, Builders Club collected over 350 rolls of paper towels. Let’s see if we can beat it this year!
Each advisory will collect rolls of paper towels all week. The four classes that collect the most rolls of paper towels will win free time in advisory. Please contact Amanda Weaver amanda.weaver@chardonschools.org if you have any questions.
