Attribution is giving credit to a source for creating an original work. It's important to always attribute images to their source when using them in any type of work.
Creative Commons License
"The Creative Commons License is one of several public copyright licenses that enables the free distribution of an otherwise copyrighted work", according to Wikipedia. It's often used by the author or creator of a work, when they would like to allow others to reproduce their work.
Public Domain
The Public Domain are a collection of works that are available for reproduction, usually because of old age. Most examples are literature or musical pieces that were published many years ago.
Fair Use
Fair Use is generally the copying of copyrighted material for a temporary time, usually to comment upon, criticize, or parody.
Copyright
Copyright is a legal right given to the originator or creator of a work. With copyright, only the creator is allowed to reproduce the image or allow others to do so.
Digital Citizenship
"Digital Citizenship" describes one who actively participates online to engage in society, politics, and government involvement. A digital citizen can also be described as one who uses the internet frequently and effectively.

How do you know if an image is copyrighted?
Often, images that are copyrighted will often be noted so, such as in a watermark. Some websites will even prevent copying/pasting of their images. If you are unsure if an image is copyrighted or not, ask the website!
