FAFSA & Scholarship Night
Ben Davis High School will host a FAFSA completion night on Wednesday, January 17 from 4:00 - 7:00 in the Media Center. Students and families are welcome to stop by for help filling their FAFSA, or help with the completion of 21st Century ScholarTrack. Staff from InVested & 21st Century Scholars will be available to assist all students and families.
Local scholarship information will be available during this event. All students and families are invited to attend a scholarship information session at 6:30 in the commons. Information about scholarship opportunities and practical tips will be provided during this presentation. You do not have to attend the FAFSA completion workshop to come to the scholarship meeting!

Admission Decision Types
- Accepted - You know what this means. Congratulations! You have until May 1 to notify the institution of your decision.
- Defer - No admission decision has been made. Usually the college wants to see additional information - either grades or test scores before they make a final decision. Be sure to send them the requested information by the deadline provided.
- Deny - You know what this means. On to plan b.
- Conditional or Provisional Admisison - Consider this a maybe. It will be a yes if you complete the requirements listed in your letter.
- Waitlisted - If space becomes available, you will be offered a spot.
Working on College Applications?
Learn More Indiana has compiled a helpful database which includes the deadlines of Indiana Colleges and Universities. The database can be accessed at the following link. http://www.learnmoreindiana.org/educators/k-12-counselors-and-teachers/classroom-materials/college-application-fees-and-waivers/
All transcript requests for college applications are processed through Naviance. To request a transcript students should complete the following three steps.
- Add the college to the list of 'colleges I am applying to' in Naviance.
- Confirm you have applied
- Request the transcript
After the transcript request is made, the transcript will be sent to the college electronically within five school days. The student or parent can log in to Naviance to check the status of the transcript request. Students who are applying to an institution through the Common Application will have to complete the one time process of 'matching' their Common Application to their Naviance account before school documents can be sent.
