Olympic Middle School
Weekly Message for 2/5-2/9
Good afternoon Olympic families and staff!
This week is National School Counseling week. Olympic is lucky to have Kaila Eichorn and Grace Reneker as our school counselors. Kaila and Grace support our students by leading a program that focuses on the academic, career, personal and social needs of our students. Let’s all take a moment this week to thank them for the continual support of our students and our staff.
This Friday 2/9 is a half day with school dismissing at 11:35. Please make sure your student knows their plan. Our staff will continue their work that afternoon with collaborative professional development on classroom teachable moments and logical consequences for behavior, as well as on continuing to build their skills on teaching mini lessons. This time is valuable for staff to learn with and from each other!
Intramurals:
- Girl’s Basketball will practice on Monday and then have their first 2 games on Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday’s game is at home against Holy Family at 3:30 and Thursday’s game is at home again Cornerstone at 3:30. There is no practice on Wednesday or Friday this week.
- Boy’s Soccer will not practice this week. Coach Rodeback has had to cancel due to an injury.
Our ASB leadership students continue to sell candygrams this week for $1 each. Candygrams will be delivered to students on 2/13. Our ASB appreciates your support! Students can purchase these before and after school in our commons. We also kick of a kindness challenge this week. Students and staff will be recognized for doing acts of kindness by receiving tickets. These tickets will be placed in a drawing for fun prizes.
Thank you to our families who came out last Wednesday for our Lemonade and Libraries night. Every family received a gold coin for our book vending machine for a book to take home. Spending time sharing writing and exploring the classroom libraries was fun for staff and families.
Let’s have a wonderful week at Olympic!
