November Calendar
Cardboard Challenge Family Night
This will be the third year for Jack Anderson Elementary to participate in the Cardboard Challenge. The first year, the students built arcade games with inspiration from Caine Monroy. "9-year-old Caine Monroy spent his summer vacation building an elaborate cardboard arcade inside his dad’s used auto parts store. The entire summer went by, and he never had a single customer. But Caine didn’t give up." Watch this video, and I guarantee that you will be inspired, too! Cain's Arcade Video
Last year we moved away from arcade games and adapted the challenge so it would be standards-based. By including elements from Social Studies, ELA, Math, and Science, students were able to connect content areas to their cardboard creations.
We are inviting our families to experience our students' creations this year. Please join us on November 5th between 5-7:00 p.m. to see how learning has come to life as our amazing students share their knowledge.
Important Check-in /Check-out Reminder
Families, when you sign your child in or out of the office, please make sure to write the time of the arrival or dismissal.
Morning Drop Off
You may not avoid the car rider line by pulling through the front parking area. You may park and walk your child to the crosswalk, but it is not ok to drop off or drive through. You may only drop off in the lane with safety patrol.
