EVAAS Reminder
You should have gotten an email from EVAAS. The EVAAS teacher window is open now until May 19th. The email from EVAAS has a lot of good information in it.
Attached is MGSD notes that Ginger Huffstickler has created before DPI created there forms.
Also attached the date sheet that Ginger Huffstickler created to help teachers determine % of students and teachers together. Make sure you are using the date sheet that there are two tabs - one for semester and one for year long classes. Please be careful to be one correct tab of workbook.
Enrollments After 8/28/16: Link her is also a list of all of Park View students that have enrolled after 8/28 for you to be able to determine % with students to go along with the data sheet above.
New teachers that have not done this before, please contact a colleague here at school first. Many of our teachers have completed this process for a few years now.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact myself, Lori or Ginger

Retention Meetings
Retentions
- The MTSS Team and Mr. Hobbs will get together on May 31st for retention meetings. Remember that for this meeting, you will recommend students to be considered, your MTSS rep will present the student on your behalf, but you will NOT have to attend the meeting yourself.
- There is a lot of information here about retention meetings so please read carefully and let Ms. Johnson know if you have any questions :o)
- On Monday May 5th, let your MTSS rep know which of your students you want brought up at the retention meeting. These students should already be Tier 3, should have received a retention letter and parent contact should have been made about the possibility of retention.
**There may be a circumstance where a child has enrolled late in the school year and you feel like retention may be an option for them. If you have any children like this, come see me and we'll look at the data together.
Your MTSS rep will provide you with enough Light's Retention Scales for each child being considered for retention. Please fill out the scale (Your MTSS rep can help you if you're not sure how) and have it ready to turn in by May 15th.
Along with your scale, please provide notes for the MTSS Rep to share with the team on your behalf. These notes should cover:
- The interventions the child has received this year
- The child's progress toward those goals
- Their expected EOY level in the subject area interventions were being given.
- Any other pertinent information you feel the team needs to make a decision
- Your notes and your Light's Scale are due to your MTSS rep by May 15th.
- Please be sure to give your MTSS folders for all students being considered for retention before the meeting on May 31st.
- If you have any questions or you need any help please come see me or your MTSS Rep.
Here's a list that may be easier to read:
May 5th - Tell your rep which students you are considering for retention
May 5th-May 15th - Work on the Light's Scales and notes for those students being considered
May 15th - All Light's Scales and notes are due to your MTSS Rep
May 31st - Retention Meeting Day - give your MTSS folders for students being considered for retention to your MTSS Rep
- Please Remember...if you have a student that you are questioning and not sure about retention, that student should still be brought to the meeting and the team will make the decision based on that child and what's best.

Summer Packets
- Great Idea from RRES
- Let's give our kids options and things to do over the summer
- Thinking about compiling materials to send with your students? Take a look @ this document first. I know first hand how much time is spent on preparing materials and sending them without knowing how much is truly used. There are so many learning opportunities over the summer - so check out this example or use if you like to send with your students.

Reset Password
- It’s that time of the year when faculty passwords start to expire. As a security measure, technology requires us to change our passwords every 365 days.Everyone with an email account must do this.
- Most users reset passwords around this time last year, meaning we need to reset them again this year. Here are the directions for resetting your password. NOTE: You must be at school ON THE MGSD NETWORK.
- It may take 24 hours for the password change to be updated in all of our systems, but it will. Remember, you need to be on our network to change your password this way. You will also need to update any devices that access your MGSD account with the new password (i.e. your cell phone, etc).
- If you do not have a MacBook or use a PC only, check with your Instructional Coach, helpdesk Manager or Technician.
Summer Institute
- On behalf of the MGSD Executive and Instructional Coach teams, we are excited to announce we have a new format and theme for Summer Institute this year: Summer Splash! We invite you to join us for 2.5 days of professional learning with a fun beach theme, including prizes!
For your attendance and participation you will be compensated $300.
- Based on feedback from last year, we are offering 3
types
of sessions (Deep Dives, Skinny Dips, and Cooler Tools) as well as building in more time for processing of learning, creation of products, and collaborative team-based work. Our schedule is packed full of new and encore sessions, each aligned to our district-adopted M-Powerment Strategies! - Sessions have caps
(or maximums)
to keep our class sizes small and it will be first come, first served.
- To prepare for registration you need to do 3 things before Tuesday:
- Review the Course Descriptions to plan out your choices. We recommend you review your walkthroughs for suggestions on which M-Powerment strategies might suit you best. You will register for 1 Deep Dive and 2 Skinny Dips.
- Look over the pathway recommendations if you are a specialist, non-traditional classroom teacher, or serve in another student support or professional role. These will guide you to non-classroom/content specific sessions to help you in your position.
- Create a Twitter account if you don't already have one. You can find directions here. You will need your Twitter "handle" (@username) to complete your registration.
