21-22 Edison Parent Survey
Are Your Returning to Edison In the Fall?
We are beginning to plan for the 2022-2023 school year at this time. It would be extremely helpful for us to know whether or not your child will be returning to Fraser in the fall. We are asking each family to help us with this process by completing the form below. Please take a moment to fill it out. Please complete ONE FORM per child.
We greatly appreciate your assistance planning for next school year!
Fraser Virtual K-12 Enrollment
Enrollment for Virtual Learning is now open for the 2022-2023 school year. As we did this year, we will partner with a third party to deliver the instruction. We are excited to again partner with Lincoln Learningfor our K-6 students and Imagine Edgenuity for students in grades 7-12.
To learn more about our virtual program, please visit our Virtual webpage.
If you would like to enroll in virtual learning for next year, you can complete the form here.
The early enrollment window is open now through May 30.
Special Accommodations for 22-23 Classroom Assignments
Due to the many variables and requirements that have become part of the classroom assignment process, requesting specific teachers is not a viable option.
Second Step SEL Curriculum Update
As you know, in January we kicked of the Second Step Curriculum in all K-8 classes to further strengthen our social and emotional learning. Second Step offers weekly, age-appropriate virtual lessons for students to help them with a variety of social and emotional skills. These weekly lessons build on and support all of the great work we're doing at Ike to support our students. Combined with our school-wide restorative practices and PBIS expectations, we are creating a foundation for supporting all of our students' social, emotional, and behavioral development.
Please view the Unit 4 grade-level home links below to learn more about what your child is learning and how to support them at home.

Dress Code Conversations
We've had to have a number of these conversations in the recent weeks regarding the following dress code rules:
* No spaghetti straps or halter tops
* No bare midriffs
* Shorts should be roughly fingertip length or longer.
Students not adhering to the dress code will be asked to change or will be provided with alternative clothing, if available.
We never like to single anybody out so we appreciate your help in having these conversations at home with your children.

Character Club at Edison Elementary
This year, we're excited to continue our implementation of Positivity Project at Edison Elementary. This is a 32-week program that focuses on different character strengths that we work to explicitly teach our students throughout the year. Each week, we focus on a new character strength. The purpose of Positivity Project at Edison is to foster positive relationships amongst students and staff, in addition to helping students build their self-awareness, self-confidence, & understanding and appreciation of others. Topics associated with each character strength are often discussed via Restorative Circles within our classrooms. Together, we're committed to establishing positive relationships and continually improving our school culture.
This year, we decided to replace our Student of the Month program with Character Club. Throughout the year, we will be honoring our students with Character Club Awards. Teachers are already working to determine students that exemplify all of the different character strengths for the whole year. Don't get discouraged if your child isn't recognized until April-May! That just means that your child perfectly represents one of the traits that happen to be taught later in the year.
Each week, we will be distributing Character Awards to students. At the end of each month, student award recipients will have a Character Club lunch together to celebrate our positive character!
Building Reminders
* Bus Lane- The curb area directly in front of the building (from the bench to the sign) is for buses only. Please don't stop there to drop off in the morning.
*We encourage adults to park (in a designated spot) and walk all students through the parking lot.
*Please don't park along the grass/curve as you enter the parking lot. It makes navigating the parking lot even trickier for incoming traffic.
*Please don't pick your child up while driving past the crosswalk. That momentary pause at the crosswalk causes confusion and delays the flow of traffic out of the lot.
Arrival/Dismissal:
*We encourage adults to park (in a designated spot) and walk all students through the parking lot.
*The playground closes M-F from 4:00PM-6:00PM so our SACC students can have safe access to the playground equipment.
*Students are not allowed to be dropped off prior to 8:15AM, unless they are registered for morning SACC.
Office Procedures:
*Always bring your ID to the office when picking your student up early.
* No parents or visitors are allowed to proceed past the vestibule/office.
Illness
*If your child is experiencing any symptoms of illness (cough, congestion, sore throat, etc)- please keep them home. *If your child complains of illness at school or if a staff member notices that your child is exhibiting symptoms, students are sent home.
*Students need to be symptom-free for 24 hours prior to returning.
