What a Wild Week!
Cold Days
Thank you so much parents for your understanding with all these crazy weather days. The kids have really handled it well considering how much their schedules have been thrown off. Next week looks like it's back to business as usual and we even have a bit of a heatwave coming our way!
Our learning this week
We may have only had 2 days together, but that doesn't mean we didn't learn! This week was the beginning of a new math unit. Our new unit will begin introducing students ton concepts of addition. We start off by learning about number bonds to help us see how numbers can be broken up or combined.
We also have been working on differentiating between short and long vowels. We are doing this through sorting, word building, and careful listening.
F&P testing next week
We had intended to do our F&P testing with the students this week but the weather had other plans for us. On Monday Mrs. Strejcek and Miss Warner will be pulling students for testing and on Thursday Mrs. Machak will be pulling her students.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Conferences are still a ways off (March 14th and 15th) but online scheduling opens up in just a few short weeks. Support is offered to all parents who need help scheduling parent-teacher conferences using Skyward on Tuesday, February 19th and Wednesday, February 20th from 4:00-8:00pm at Jefferson Junior High. Computers and staff will be available to answer all your questions.
