Principal's News
Happy New Year to you and your family! As the holiday season draws to an end, I hope you and your family are rested, happy, healthy and ready to “Roar” in the New Year! In addition, we hope that you and your kids are as eager to return to a “normal” routine as we are. As many of you are aware, children and adults thrive on routine and clear consistent expectations. You may remember seeing the Lakeview School Wide Expectations posted during your visits or discussed at multiple events this year. During the next few weeks we will be reviewing our School Wide Expectations and getting back on track for a successful third quarter. Please take some time to review these expectations with your child. Your partnership is greatly appreciated.
It is hard to believe that half of our year has passed and that 2015 has already begun. Our teachers and staff are dedicated to providing the best education possible, while maintaining a fun, comfortable, and safe environment for our students. Our students, staff and teachers will spend some time reflecting upon the first half of the school year and setting goals for the remainder of this year. Taking time to reflect on successes, identifying areas of weakness and setting attainable and realistic goals will allow us to continue in our pursuit to build an educational community where learning is everything and excellence is the standard.
We will personally be asking the students to reflect on their education and set goals for personal growth. Staff and students will target areas such as Citizenship and Character Development, as well as reading, writing, and mathematics. It is through a strong and supportive partnership that we can help students identify meaningful goals. We strongly believe that if we collectively support our students in their academic goals, students will reach new levels of academic excellence. We will continue to recognize our students who exhibit excellence both socially and academically during our quarterly school-wide recognition assembly. Be sure to set aside time at home to celebrate these accomplishments as well, as they truly are stepping stones to success!
Second quarter report cards will be mailed home on Friday, January 9, 2015. Please reserve some time to speak to your children about their progress in school and the goals they will be setting for themselves for the remainder of this year. Our students need to know that all of the adults in their life care about them and their progress at school. This is a great opportunity to share your thoughts about the importance of education as well. “All of our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”
Welcome back LIONS! We are in pursuit of EXCELLENCE!
