MCPS Weekly Things to Know
- The Board of Education is committed to conducting a thorough and transparent superintendent search process that reflects the needs and aspirations of its diverse community. Please take a moment to fill out the online survey. The survey is an opportunity for you to share thoughts, concerns and aspirations for the district's future. Read more.
- During the fourth quarter, MCPS will pilot attendance messages through the Remind app to help families make every effort to send their child(ren) to school every day. A message will be automatically sent when a student is absent for three, five and 10 days during the quarter. The messages are designed to be informative, culturally competent, empathetic and supportive. A student is considered chronically absent if they are absent 10 percent or more of the days they are enrolled. Remember, school staff are always available to help remove any barriers to your children’s attendance.
- Kindergarten: Children who will be 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2024 are eligible to register for kindergarten. Read more.
- The Montgomery Department of Transportation invites all MCPS families to Safety Day on Saturday, May 11 in the Carver Educational Services Center (CESC) parking lot in Rockville.
