Message from Principal, Janine Holmes
Hello Raiders,
I hope you all had a great weekend. We know this has been a difficult week for many families and students. Please see the second letter from me that addresses this topic.
Again, congratulations to the Class of 2020. I hope you had an opportunity to watch the Award Ceremony on Friday when many of our graduates were honored for their achievements in academics, athletics, and service. The Class of 2020 Virtual Graduation Ceremony will be held on June 12, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. I hope you can join us to celebrate our seniors. Keep checking Schoology, School Messenger, and our Website for the link to the graduation ceremony.
We have just two weeks left of school year 2019-2020. Please remain focused, join your classes, and complete the requirements for each course. The Continuity of Learning program along with lessons for each class will continue through Friday, June 19.
Your teachers, counselors, and administrators are available if you need help. Please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Dear Loch Raven Families:
Dr. Williams, our superintendent, shared some thoughts and information regarding the events that are currently happening in cities and towns across America. While still dealing with the impact of COVID-19, we recognize families are also trying to process the horrific deaths of three African Americans; two during interactions with police and one while jogging in a neighborhood. As Dr. Williams’ stated, “we must have open, honest, and authentic conversations about racism and its devastating influence and continuing impact.” The purpose of this communication is to make you aware of available resources and supports for our students and school community.
Our counseling department has provided time for virtual open conversations with our students. Our administrators and counselors are also available to talk to students individually. Additionally, a variety of local, state and national resources are available at www.bcps.org. On the homepage, please scroll down to the Safety Focus box on the right-hand side and click on the Social Emotional Resources link.
We understand that these are difficult times and the effects of COVID-19 make it more challenging for us to connect in traditional ways. We are here to listen and help one another as a school community. Please know that we are committed to supporting our students and families because we are truly stronger together!
Sincerely,
Janine Holmes

- The combined MP3 and MP4 grade will be in the MP4 column.
- The marking period and year-to-date attendance will remain blank for MP3 and MP4.

sat update from college board
Find the most up-to-date information at:
https://blog.collegeboard.org/2020-sat-dates-need-to-know
We're working to ensure that students will have opportunities to take the SAT® to make up for this spring’s lost administrations. We're sharing with you that we've added a new SAT administration for Saturday, September 26, 2020. This date will be for the SAT only, in the United States and internationally, with no SAT Subject Tests™ available. Sunday testing for religious reasons will be on September 27.
Registration for the 2020-21 SAT administrations will open the week of May 26. At that point, June registrants will be able to transfer their seat to a 2020-21 administration. All other students in the high school class of 2021 who don't have SAT scores will also have early access to register for the August, September, and October administrations. This includes students who had registered for March or May and had their registrations canceled and refunded. For each administration this year, we're also preparing to significantly expand our capacity.
Our top priorities are the health and safety of students and educators. Please note we'll only move forward with the administrations if it's safe to do so from a public health standpoint.
If you have questions, call Customer Service at 866-756-7346 (domestic) or +1-212-713-7789 (international). We'll also regularly update our webpage with information.
