We Are Thankful!
Dear SACBS Parents, Staff, Students, and Friends,
We have so many things to be “thankful” for. Our annual Grandparents’ Day was held on Friday, November 19th, and we had an abundance of parents, grandparents, family member and friends. It was a beautiful day that began with Mass, celebrated by Bishop Toups, where our 6th grade students were in charge of every aspect of the Mass. They were readers, ushers, and altar servers. The Andrews-Baldwin Music Company students and our 1st & 2nd grade student choir led the music ministry by using their gifts of voice, guitar, drums, and handbells.
It's an amazing gift to see our students participate in Mass. It shows them the importance of being active in the church. Our 4th & 5th grade handbell choir, under the direction of Mrs. Baldwin, beautifully played "God is so Good" for our meditation after communion. At the end of Mass, all grandparents were acknowledged and we showed our appreciation for their never ending love and support. Gifts were given for the grandparent who had the most grandchildren, those that traveled the farthest, and those who were alum of the school who sent their children and now their grandchildren to St. Anthony.
After Mass grandparents were treated to our drumline students playing as they exited the church. There was excitement everywhere! ECC grandparents were able to watch a wonderful performance by our PreK3, PreK4, and Kindergarten classes. Once the activities were done, happy children directed their grandparents to our school Book Fair, before beginning their Thanksgiving Holiday. We are Thankful for the gift of our SACBS Families.
As we celebrate the beginning of the season of Advent, we prepare ourselves for the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The first week of Advent focuses on Hope. Advent is a time of hopeful waiting as we “Prepare the way of the Lord.” May our prayerful jouney this season
of Advent draw us nearer to our loving and merciful God. I pray that you and your family will use this season of Advent to spend quality time with Christ and each other.
God Bless,
Mrs. Runnels
