Test Prep Resources
We would like to share a resource called Lexia Power Up that can help your child be more successful and earn a level 3 on the end-of-the-year FAST assessment. I am attaching a video and additional attachments regarding the program.
Your child can log into the program in their myPascoConnect. After the initial placement test, they should plan to spend about 20-25 minutes a day working in the program to improve their reading skills. We appreciate your support in helping your child be a more successful reader.
You can see how the program works here:
Recording-20240221_073650.webmTeacher Appreciation Week 2024
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We've had a fantastic school year, and our teachers and amazing staff are the MVPs for making this year possible. Help us celebrate them during the week of May 6-10, 2024!
We are fortunate to have some generous business partners who have donated to help with some treats for this week, but we can use donations of snacks and drinks for Monday, May 6th--as well as some volunteers who would provide "room service" deliveries of treats for our teachers & staff. Are you able to contribute a snack, drink or staff our delivery team? We'd love any help you can offer. :)
8th Grade Dance Donations Needed
We are working to plan an 8th-grade dance to help mark the closing of the middle school chapter for our Archers. Would you consider donating some decorations and supplies?

Track & Field Schedule
Do you know someone interested in joining the Archer Nation for 2024-2025? Our second School Choice window opens April 15 through April 19. Families who are not already on a waiting list should submit an application to join our school family for the upcoming year.
One of the requirements for all 7th graders to attend school is to have the Tdap immunization. Please take your child to your physician or local Health Department for the necessary immunizations as soon as possible. Please return the required certificate of immunization (DOH680 form) to the school so we can document it in our records.
You can provide this documentation a couple different ways:
1) Bring a copy of the immunization record to the school for us to verify and note in our system.
2) Scan the document and send an email to (school nurse name), school nurse, at (SN email address)
Please note that students who have not provided documentation of this required immunization will not receive their class schedule during registration in August. If the required document is not received by the first day of school, your child will be excluded from school until proof of the vaccine is provided.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Failure to respond by the above date may result in your child being unable to attend the first day of school.
April is National Financial Literacy Month which is a great opportunity to highlight the importance of financial literacy and teach our students how to establish and maintain healthy financial habits. To celebrate the month and encourage our students to be financially smart citizens in our communities, Pasco County Schools, in partnership with our valued community partners will offer virtual experiences and opportunities throughout the month. These events are designed to help parents/guardians, employees, community members and students with financial planning matters and getting more information for starting a financially successful future. Fun facts and resources will be featured throughout the month.
Teachers will also have the opportunity to sign up for virtual learning opportunities for themselves, as well as to have the opportunity to sign their classes up for guest speakers that will support the learning of the month.
Students can access Naviance for additional resources. Please use this link to learn how to login and navigate to the topics specific to their grade level and visit the district Financial Literacy webpage for more information.
Encourage students to be on the lookout beginning April 1st on their myPascoConnect dashboard with information on how to enter access a course through myLearning to build their understanding of financial literacy and be entered to win prizes! All stakeholders are encouraged to showcase the learning and tag #PascoFinancialLiteracy #PCSCelebratesFinancialLiteracy throughout the month.

5 Pitfalls to Avoid When You’re Apologizing to Your Kids
“Man, I really gotta apologize for what happened,” Cole said. Sitting on our living room couch, I braced myself for the apology I'd been waiting for from my college roommate. He’d been the cause of an incident that strained our relationship horribly. He acknowledged the problem, but as he spoke, it became evident that his apology was more about shifting blame than taking responsibility. Instead of conveying genuine remorse, Cole delved into a lengthy explanation, subtly implying that the situation wasn't entirely his fault. The sincerity I hoped for was overshadowed by a defensive tone, leaving me with the impression that he was more focused on justifying his actions than on repairing our friendship. The incident served as a reminder that a well-intentioned apology involves not only admitting fault but also making a genuine effort to understand and acknowledge the impact on the other person. Honestly, some us of dads may slip up on how to properly apologize to our kids. I know I do. Here are 5 pitfalls to avoid when you’re apologizing to your kids.
Huddle up with your kids and ask, “What makes saying I’m sorry hard to do?”
