We Love You Fr. Jerry!
We couldn't let another day go by without telling Fr. Jerry how much we love him and appreciate everything that he has done for us. At the end of our weekly Mass, the staff and student body acknowledged the great spiritual leader Fr. Jerry has been. We pray that he will enjoy his retirement, and want him to know that he will always be in our thoughts, prayers, and hearts. This year due to COVID, each week we have different classes attend Mass in person and the other half participate online. Pictured below with Fr. Jerry are our 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classes who attended Mass in the Cathedral Basilica this week.

It's always a great day to be a SACBS Bulldog!

Both groups did an excellent job!

St. Anthony Helping to Serve the Community
Student Council officers, Sienna and Janet, represented St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica School at the Southeast Texas Food Bank volunteer appreciation event Saturday morning. St. Anthony's SOUPER BOWL of 2020 had the highest school participation for food drive volunteerism. Way to go Bulldogs!
Mrs. Valencia's Computer Class with 5th Grade!
After a morning of testing, Mrs. Valencia introduced the 5th grade class to Eric Curts' online checkers game. They loved the technology of playing checkers with a classmate simply by a click and drag of their designated checker. The class was filled with laughter, competition and a few students playing the game for the first time. Eric has also brought Chess online which will be their next challenge.
2021-2022 TASC District 17 Middle Level Historian
Our St. Anthony Student Council is officially the 2021-2022 middle level historian for District 17 of the Texas Association of Student Councils. They'll be working with Beaumont United (the high school historian) throughout the school year to reach councils throughout southeast Texas. This is great honor to be chosen for this responsibility and we are up for the challenge.

Cooking with Ms. Davila's 8th grade Spanish class!
Ms. Davila's 8th grade Spanish class had the opportunity to try out their culinary skills. They learned how to make guacamole and pico de gallo from scratch. For some of them, it was their first time trying these new dishes. Students did an amazing job and showed their appreciation for culture and food. We may have some budding chefs in our midst.
