Digital Device Policy for ACT
Juniors -
Please read the following information about digital devices during standardized testing (ACT).
Digital devices are NOT allowed in the testing room at any time during Standardized Testing (ACT).
Digital devices are defined as anything that can capture, store, relay, or receive electronic information. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: laptops, smart phones, smart watches, fitness trackers, MP3 players, and tablets.
We will have a place for students to place their cell phone OUTSIDE of the testing room the day of testing, but encourage students to leave electronic devices in their cars or at home on testing day. Students cannot access any digital device until the test is complete, and students have been dismissed.
Please DO NOT wear your apple watches, FitBits, etc. to school on the day of testing if you are taking the test. This will be strictly enforced.
Any student found to be in possession of a digital device that is within their reach during the administration of ACT, the device will be confiscated and could be subject to search if there is suspicion that the device was used to capture, record, or share test information or facilitate cheating on the test. Additionally, the student will be dismissed from testing immediately, and the test may be invalidated in accordance with ACT policy.
Disciplinary action may be taken for any student violating the digital device policy.
Attendance
Please Be At School!
We need your help with improving our school attendance! We need you at school everyday, on time, and please do not check out unless it is absolutely necessary! Everyday Counts!
If you are absent, please turn excuses into Mrs. Rich in the front office.
Did you know that the Alabama State Department of Education defines chronic absenteeism as any student that misses 18 days of school, regardless of whether the absence was coded unexcused or excused.
Our school attendance is an important part of our school report card, but more importantly, WE WANT YOU HERE AT SCHOOL WITH US!
Attendance Really Does Matters!
Monday Mission
Today, choose an area where you'd like to improve, think of things you can do to strengthen key skills in that area, and then get started!!
Make Every Day Count!
