Message from the Principals
Hello Franklin Junior High families,
We hope you are having a wonderful spring break. Our third quarter was full of learning, performing arts concerts and festivals, athletic competitions, and club activities. We also had fun at Karaoke Game Night and hosted STEM Night, as well as venturing to Disneyland for the Performing Arts Trip.
This season's sports tryouts begin on Monday after Spring Break. If your student is interested in playing girls basketball or boys soccer, please fill out this form by Monday, prior to the end of the school day.
Also coming up in April will be the AASA and AzSCI state tests and the 8th grade Close Up Trip to Washington, D.C. (Please see the letter sent home last week for testing dates.)
Buckle up for a fast and busy ride as we finish out this school year with success.
Have a restful break!
Mrs. Moya and Mr. Abrams

Season 3 Sports Post-Season Results
Girls Volleyball, Flag Football, and Cross Country
Our 8th grade girls volleyball team advanced to the district playoffs after an exciting game that went to 30 points followed by a 3rd game win. Although they didn't advance to semifinals, the team had a great season with Coach Anderson and improved their skills tremendously since January.
Our 8th grade flag football team had a season for the record books. They only lost one regular season game, and made it all the way to the district championship match. After a tough game that was still scoreless at halftime, they came up shy by just one touchdown at the final whistle. We’re so proud of this team!
Cross Country was coached by Mr. and Mrs. Young, and assistant volunteer coaches Mr. Heiselt and Mrs. Huber. Our CC team had a record-breaking season starting with nearly 60 runners. At the city championship meet, the boys ran a great team race and finished 2nd overall with 6 runners finishing in the Top 15. The girls also had 6 runners in the Top 15 finishers. We are so thrilled to add a Cross Country banner in the gym to recognize the exciting news that our girls team took 1st place at city!

Congratulations to our band and Mr. Cory Trout for earning a Superior rating at the ABODA Band Festival on March 13. The event was held at Mesa High School. Our students gave it everything they had and sounded amazing.
