Message from the School Board
School Board President Sunny Hemphill
A new school year is always exciting. New classrooms, new friends, new challenges, new opportunities. This year, the Wenatchee School District has a new Superintendent, Dr. Paul Gordon, who brings a passion for connections and belonging to the district.Dr. Gordon hit the ground running on July 1. The Board had our first meeting with Dr. Gordon and his cabinet on July 10. We agreed upon a new set of operating protocols and set the stage to begin evaluating and updating our district’s Strategic Plan. Read more

Migrant Summer School ❤️'s Wenatchee
This year the Wenatchee School District Migrant Summer School program grant increased from four to five weeks and our enrollment increased from 120 to nearly 200 students. Our staff created a successful and replicable K-5 Migrant summer program with the theme “I Love Wenatchee.” This program is funded by a Migrant Education grant and is based on experiential learning and high levels of engagement. With high levels of mobility and gaps in learning, migrant students do not have the same opportunities to connect to their communities, their peers, and their learning. Read more
