Principal's Message
What a start to Term 4!
The Colour Fun Run was exactly as promised – lots of fun. Well done to all those students who participated and raised money for our school. Thank you Mr Wann and his team for organising the event and all the families who so kindly sponsored our students. We will update our community later this year on the new equipment we purchase with the money raised. Congratulations to 2/3D, our winning class, who raised the most money for the school. I heard the pizza was delicious!
It has been great to see all the students involved in the Active Kids initiative after school. We have a range of activities available – soccer, basketball, cricket, martial arts and dance. Whilst the sessions are full this term, every child in NSW is entitled to receive an Active Kids voucher. If your child would like to participate in an activity after school or on the weekend, visit the Active Kids website for information on claiming your voucher and finding a registered activity provider.
Parents and carers should have received their child’s NAPLAN results at the end of last term. As a NAPLAN online school, the students participated in a tailored test that has adapted to their responses. We are now in the process of reviewing our results this year to support the evaluation of programs across the school. If you have any questions about your child’s NAPLAN results, please speak to your child’s class teacher.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Ian Tapuska
Principal

From the Deputy Principals - Mrs Alfaro and Mrs Vajdevski
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to the beginning of an ‘action packed’ Term 4 at Liverpool Public School. We hope all of our families had a wonderful break and our students are now ready for the many quality learning experiences ahead of them in this term. Please see an overview of the term in the Diary Dates section. It promises to be a wonderful culmination to another fabulous year at Liverpool.
NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC Week is an occasion for all Australians to come together to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people - the oldest continuing cultures on the planet.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Mr Scott and Mrs Pitt for sharing their personal experiences with our students during NAIDOC week. This was an extremely valuable experience for every one of our students.
The students were extremely lucky to hear Mr Scott play the didgeridoo which can be viewed below.
Stage 3 Camp
The Stage 3 camp is fast approaching. Students will be leaving early on Monday 28 October and returning on Wednesday 30 October. Please finalise all payments as soon as possible. Any questions please see Miss Fatrouni or Miss Rebeiro.
School Enrolments for 2020
The end of 2019 is fast approaching and we have now begun planning for 2020. Please inform the school as soon as possible in writing if your child is not returning to Liverpool Public School in 2020, or if your child is starting kindergarten 2020, and you have not yet informed the office.
School Leaders 2020
During Term 4 the Year 5 students will have the opportunity to nominate themselves as a potential school leader for 2020. The students have been spoken to about the expectations of school leaders and the criteria for possible selection. They are extremely eager for this great opportunity.
Fresh for Kids - Fruit and Veg Month
During the month of September our school was involved in the Healthy Kids 'Fruit and Veg Month' promotion where we promoted the benefits of eating fruit and vegetables daily. The students were eagerly eating fruits and vegetables everyday. What a magnificent effort from every student. We participated in the ‘Eat Fresh and Win’ Canteen Campaign and sent off 2435 entries into the major prize!
Congratulations to Emrah. B. from 6P who won 2nd prize which was a $300 Strike Bowling Party.
World Teachers Day
Friday 25 October is World Teachers Day. We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all the teachers at Liverpool Public School for your dedication and hard work teaching our students each and everyday.
Thank you
Mrs Alfaro (K-2) and Mrs Vajdevski (3-6)
The Partners in Learning Parent Feedback Survey 2019
This Term, our school will be participating in the Partners in Learning parent survey, another part of the Tell Them From Me suite of surveys (student, teacher and parent surveys) on student engagement. The survey asks parents and carers questions about different factors that are known to impact on student wellbeing and engagement.
Running this survey will help our school understand parents’ and carers’ perspectives on their child’s experience at school. These include: communication between parents/carers and staff, activities and practices at home and parent/carer views on the school's support of learning and behaviour. This valuable feedback will help our school make practical improvements.
The survey is conducted entirely online on smartphones, iPads, tablets, laptops or computers. The survey will typically take 15 minutes or less to complete and is completely confidential. The parent survey will be conducted between Monday 26 August and Friday 25 October. Although participating in the survey is entirely voluntary, your responses are very much appreciated. The survey is available in 23 languages.
More information about the survey is available at: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au
To access the survey for our school:
· go to http://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/pggrj
· or use the QR code provided above
We are offering parents and carers the opportunity to complete the survey at school with the assistance of our school staff each:
· Monday morning from 8:30am - 9:30am at Liverpool Central
· Monday afternoon from 2:15pm - 2:45pm at Friends of Liverpool
· Every afternoon commencing Monday 9 September from 2:20pm - 2:45pm
We will also be offering parents and carers the opportunity to receive prizes for their time completing the survey. Please speak to Mrs Evangelista to find out more information about how this will work.
Thank you in anticipation of your support of this valuable evidence-gathering tool.

Our school is organising an information session about The Leader In Me framework at Liverpool Central community room. The session runs from 9:30am to 10:30am. We hope to see you all there.
