Tomball ISD Board of Trustees
Tomball ISD is governed by an elected seven-member board. School Board members are guardians of the public trust and, through the policies they make, are ultimately responsible for the success or failure of local public education. The board serves as the advocate for educational excellence for the community’s youth and puts those interests first.

Tomball ISD was named the best district in the Houston region and fifth best in Texas by Children at Risk’s annual school rankings. It knocked Katy ISD from the top local spot after four years. Creekside Forest Elementary was ranked as the second best elementary school in the region, just behind Houston ISD’s T.H. Rogers School.
Tomball has been considered among the top local districts for years, said Bob Sanborn, president and CEO of the Children at Risk nonprofit. What put them over the edge this year, Sanborn said, was the ranking’s new component focusing on the outcomes of lower income students of color. While Tomball serves a smaller percentage of students of color than the region as a whole — with 31 percent of its students identifying as Latino and about 5 percent as Black — Sanborn said the data shows the district has put in extra effort to make sure those students achieve.

Tomball ISD has extended the deadline for the Change of Learning Environment window to March 11.
All families have the opportunity to make a change to their child(ren)’s current learning environment (F2F/TVS) for the fourth and final grading period. Due to the extended window for the Change of Learning Environment, the effective date of change moves from Monday, March 22 to Monday, March 29. Any changes made will be effective from March 29 through May 27.
This process is open and will remain open through March 11. During this window, families will log in to Home Access Center (HAC) to make any necessary changes.
Deanna Porter - Lakewood Elementary
“I truly feel blessed to work with an amazing group of educators at Lakewood Elementary,” Porter said. “Without the hard work and dedication of every staff member, this recognition would not be possible. At Lakewood, we strive to create a collaborative atmosphere, where we are not just colleagues; we are family members. We all work together to support each student and cheer them on to success.”
