- In honor of today's Day of (No) Silence, Mrs. Williams's seniors in her Diverse Voices class would like to recommend a book to you. We've been reading "Becoming Nicole" by Pulitzer Prize winning author Amy Ellis Nutt. It's the inspiring true story about the transgender actor-activist Nicole Maines and her extraordinary family. You may know Nicole Maines as TV's first transgender superhero on the TV show "Supergirl." We are learning a lot about the transgender community through Nicole's story. With many anti-trans laws in progress around the country, we believe that empathy and education are needed now more than ever. The trans community needs our support. So, please consider picking up "Becoming Nicole" for an important and interesting read!
