H.E.S. HAPPENINGS
Parent/Family Edition
MARCH 2024
Greetings, Hopkins Elementary Families,
As we transition into the month of March, we are gearing up for a series of assessments to gauge where our students are in preparation for the end of the school year. These tests will help us identify areas of strength and areas that may require additional focus as we work together to support each student's academic growth.
In addition to our assessment period, we are excited to introduce the Superintendent's Book Club Challenge! We encourage all students to participate by reading every night and tracking their reading time in Beanstack, our online reading platform. This challenge promotes a love for reading and allows students to engage with their peers in a fun and rewarding way. More information about the challenge can be found below.
We kindly ask that parents ensure their child reads every night and tracks their reading time in Beanstack. Your support in fostering a culture of literacy at home is invaluable and significantly contributes to your child's academic success.
Please review the newsletter below for a comprehensive list of events happening at Hopkins Elementary School this month, including important dates, activities, and ways to get involved in our school community.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we can empower our students to reach their full potential and achieve academic excellence.
Sincerely,
Audrey White-Garner, M Ed.

We will celebrate Pi Day at Hopkins Elementary School on Thursday, March 14th , because Pi is 3.14 and March 14th is 3/14! We are excited to make this day a fun math day for your child(ren). Please dress your child in all things math. Get creative with numbers, symbols for addition/subtraction/multiplication/division, shapes, etc. You can even create the pi symbol seen in the video link and attach it to your clothes. We will be doing fun activities on March 14th in honor of pi day, so please ask your child about what they learned!
